Yup, Herm is gone.

It seems like KC is close to hiring Mike Shanahan.

Thoughts?

It's about time they cleaned house.Peterson should have been gone years ago.And i was never happy about the Edwards hiring. Can't put all the blame on him,he didn't have much to work with.I'm glad to see him gone though.

They haven't made the playoffs in a few years and he led the team to its worst record in the history of the club. I don't think it was all Herms fault. He never had a passing game in KC and the team was defensively weak. I like Herm and I think he will eventually get another job but I think this was the right move for a team that has had no direction for the past few years.

I am OVERJOYED that Herm the Worm is gone....long over due, but I have confidence in Scott Pioli.

What the Chiefs are doing is totally different from before...Scott Pioli will solely be the General Manager, and some other people will handle the business side of the Chiefs. Carl Peterson, who was in the 20th year of his 5-year-plan, had all three hats (GM, CEO, President) and that hampered things a bit.

Pioli was instrumental in building those Patriots Super Bowl winners.

If Shanahan sticks to coaching, should he be hired, the Chiefs will definitely improve significantly, even with the lack of talent they have.

My choice is Bill Cowher.

You never give up draft picks for a coach. That said Herm did ok in KC with what he had but nonetheless had to go. You can't handcuff a new GM with a lame duck coach.

About time.

I guess you do play to win the game...

Until you're fired!

Herm gone

I am glad Harm is gone. The only reason he made the playoffs in his first season is that he was still working with Dick Vermeil's offense. Since then, he has won only six games, TOTAL, our of thirty two games. Pretty sad.

Now, he was working with a pretty young team, but still, his team was in position to win a few more games last year and his desicions blew them.

Herm has had little success both in NY and KC. I am suprised they let him stay this long and Shanahan will turn that team around. I think Denver will be sorry they let him go.
