People it's not too much to ask that you stay on topic with your posts. When you don't, constructive discussion cannot continue, and what is the point of any of this then? When we get a thread that turns into a rat's tail like this one, popping the 'tee-hee' joke posts into it doesn't make the situation any better either.
If you have a valid complaint that is a public topic, start a thread for it. Don't take shots in other peoples threads.
If you have an issue with one specific person, take it off forum and handle it as a personal matter should be. In private.

WE could just do like well moderated boards do, and let the thread starter determine what is on or off topic.

I regret that you dislike how we have chosen to run the forum.
You've made it clear many times and in many places that you are unhappy with how we choose to run the forum.
To which I reply:
We've all gotten the point.
The forum has been, and will continue to be run under the rules that we have found to work best for us here. As a community we seem to be doing quite well. We must be doing something right with the way we have things set up.
Got a thread where off topic material troubled you? point it out via the report function. Indicate the posts that bothered you, and the exact reasons why they did. If the reason is valid we will edit them. We do it all the time.
I appreciate the suggestion of self moderation, but I've seen forums where post starters act as thier own thread mods. The results are usually a chaotic mess. You can't have 10,000 people each definining what is 'ok' and still run a place with any claim to being evenly modded. You have a a gaggle of islands each with different rules that a poster can't hope to navigate.
Please give me a link to one of these self moderated forums that works. I'd like to see it in action, and speak to it's Staff. I'm always interested in seeing how others do things. If someone has made it work then perhaps I can learn from them

For what it's worth Your TIB-ness, I think Tron's idea was quite a good one. Longer clips might be a good idea! Now I've got a computer with 2 burners, I could order whole tickling videos, download and burn them! Presumably the size of said files would obviate any possibility of pirates posting them to Yahoo Groups or the like?
