I was wondering. Does any body think that if a woman goes out in public in warm hot days with her flip-flops or sandals where you can clearly see her bare feet and then gets mad when people stares at them or even glances at them to be idk what word to use in this case but I know it is not contradicting. It just does not make sense.

No. Women shouldn't feel they have to deal with someone blatantly ogling their feet just because they chose to wear sandals. Now, if they're getting pissy because someone happens to glance at them? That's a different story.

But just because a woman shows off her feet, doesn't mean she needs hordes of men practically drooling on them.

Glancing is one thing, but staring is generally recognized as somewhat rude.
Plus, "she wouldn't dress like that if she didn't want people to look" has some faulty logic, on top of being the universal creeper defense.

I wear flip-flops virtually almost 7 days a week, and I for one wouldn't appreciate having my feet stared at excessively.

So, by the same logic, a woman who wears a top with any cleavage showing should just accept that men are going to stare at her?

Fail.

i generally wear sneakers all the time do to work. if they dont like guys looking then they should cover up. i mean i look a lot hotter with no shirt on but i wear a shirt anyway.

Staring is agressive behavior. It is usually interpreted as threatening. That is not just among people but among animals as well. Glancing is okay as long as it is brief. Also, if the situation is appropriate, a simple, well placed compliment is usually appreciated by nearly anyone (nice sandles, pretty nail polish, whatever). But staring puts people on the defense. If you are consistently getting a bad reaction, you are doing something wrong.

It is a good idea to be self aware enough to keep from offending people.

Sometimes, you just want to keep your feet cool without worrying about getting oogled. Maybe it's just me, but if it's someone I don't know and they look a bit aggressive... it makes me feel like they might be dangerous. If you must stare, be subtle, friend, so I don't have to worry 😀

Fail.

I once read a really interesting article by some woman whose name forget, relevant to this topic.

She analogized things like girls dressing revealingly or going to frat parties to leaving your wallet on a public bench while you go for a walk around the block - of course you the right to not have your wallet stolen, but it's obviously going to happen.

and is the word you're looking for, "hypocritical?"

Well if all you wanna do is keep your feet cool, teva type sandals are far less sexy then skimpy flip-flops. You might get less looks if you wear a less appealing sandal. I mean I have a foot fetish so to me girls in ski,py sandals is like a girl showing most of her boobs.I mean if a girl walks around in public in a skanky real low cut shirt I think most men would look. Why is is such a big deal if guys look at ur feet anyway?

If she isn't wearing a bra and the top shows most of it with her knowing full well that most guys are going to look, then yes, she should. Unless she's just ignorant. Or blonde. But I suppose it's a bit different for bewbs.

On topic more specifically, it doesn't apply. Most people wear such just because it feels nice.

I have to agree with the others. A glance or two isn't so bad, but to have your eyes locked down on her feet but be a bit much. :wahooo:

i think with feet as opposed to various other parts of the body, it's alot easier to be unconsciously revealing. Women not in the scene prolly don't wear flip flops to garner attention, they're just cooler, cheaper, and easier to put on whilst dashing out the door. I once asked a friend of a friend why she religiously got pedicures and wore flip flops. Her reasoning wasn't because she wanted special attention drawn to her feet, but simply because she always wanted her toenails to match her solar nails. Of course, because i'm twisted, i responded with "some men are turned on by pretty feet." to which she responded "eww! feet are so gross, who on earth would be attracted to something dirty like feet?" The next time i saw her she had slip on tennis shoes.
The point i'm trying to make is that you simply can't equate wearing sandals to wearing a low cut top and just say "she should have known better" chances are she didn't.

What Sae said. It's almost 100 degrees in CA right now. The chicks in flip flops aren't wearing them for attention. Those that are, whatever. Those that have a problem with men drooling over them will either find it curiously intriguing or gross. Either way, it's a self-image issue. Perhaps.

Plus, some women like to look good for themselves...and other women. Sometimes it has little to do with the opposite sex. 🙂

And why should I wear ugly frumpy shoes as opposed to you exercising self control? Men and women look all the time; it's the long drawn out gawking stare of lustful ownership that creeps me the hell out. Same thing with staring at cleavage; get your gaze and move on. I understand you're a man and if you find it attractive, you're going to look. But borderline salivating is just plain wrong; get some self control; men look everyday and they manage.

If you're going to look, catch your glance and keep it movin'. If not, you've stepped in a realm where you're going to offend someone.

Looking is OK, we've all got eyes. Just don't be a creep about it. And if you can't tell whether you're being a creep or not, you are, so stop immediately. Perv 😉

I personally hate flip-flops, and I'm really not sure why. I just really dislike them, and that damn slapping noise they always make. Regular sandals, yes. Skimpy flip-flops with just that little strap and the thing in between the toes... nope. No way. Uh-uh. Not gonna happen.

... Get it? XD

Anyway, blatant staring? Rude. =/ No matter what part they're looking at.

R/E the OP:

I don't understand it when guys practically drool over every girl with flip-flops, to begin with.

Don't you get tired/bored after a while? Honestly, are you injecting bull semen via an IV drip, to be so desperately horny all of the time?

I glance, occasionally. If a girl is in a low-cut dress that's attractive, I'll look. If a girl is in sandals or open-toed shoes, and she has pretty feet, I'll look. One doesn't stare; it's threatening, rude, self-centered, ad nauseum; I realize that those of us with a foot fetish are in a different kettle of fish from the average Joe, as the average Joe doesn't have to deal with women walking around topless all day... but, honestly, some level of self-control ought to arise by the time your teenage years come along.

And, after they're gone, which yours of course are, as you're posting here.

Everybody has their cross to bear; doing so with some quiet dignity is strongly suggested.

Thoughts...

People in this thread have nailed it. Don't stare. Just because a woman *may* be showcasing her feet, we foot fetishists don't get a free pass to ogle.

As to the idea that women are showing off by sporting a pedicure, polish, and or flip-flops/heels/strappy sandals/whatever -- some are, some aren't. Of those that are, many are showing off TO OTHER WOMEN. Most certainly, the vast majority are not saying "Oh boy, I hope a foot fetishist notices my peds and invites me home for a long night of toe-suckin' fun". That may be a cryin' shame, but it's reality.

In sum, kis said it best. Check them out, move along. Don't give those of us who are discreet a bad name.

Dave

I have a feeling that the OP is speaking from experience. So if he really has women getting huffy because he's "just glancing" at their feet then my guess is either he's stared at these women before, or his "glances" are a lot longer than he thinks they are.
