Where's The Archies on that list?
Pink Floyd was a groundbreaking group, imo, and having lived through that era, I should have s-o-m-e insight. Perhaps Ven will be along and tell us about what it was like being a roadie for some of these groups...he was quite *versatile* from what I understand...lol.

The Wall (actualy my fave rock LP of all time!)

Thats pretty much my faves but I do own just about every LP for the most part LOL. One thing that I think was kinda shitty was how they never released the movie soundtrack to "The Wall" with the different versions on it and few new tracks. And at the end of the movie/video whatever you wanna call it it says there was a soundtrack avalible. Only thing to ever be released was a very cool packaged 45 (7") of "When The Tigers Broke Free" with the film version of "Bring The Boys Back Home" with the orchestra on the B side. My ultimate dream for Floyd would be to have an offical soundtrack release from the original tapes..not taken off the movie. Oh yes, to add one more thing..would be nice someday to have the original uncut/unedited film released which I dont think its ever made it even to a bootlegg video.

I would agree Pink Floyd one of the greatest rock bands ever.Saw,the Animals tour in Soldier Field in Chicago.90,000 people couldn't even see the exit ramps there was so many people.At the start of the show this plane went over dropping sheep in parachutes into the crowd,(Not real sheep though).They put on a three hour show,and back when this happened tickets were affordable.But,like I said never seen so many people in one place in my life it was fantastic.
i have a DVD of roger waters and guests singing live and performing the entire Wall; at the site of the berlin wall, just after it came down. it was very good!

When did that get released on DVD😕 I got it on VHS..but if its on DVD I may pick that one up. Unfortunatly some of the "guests" kinda fucked up the songs (example - Cindi Lauper doing "..Brick In The Wall" and Van Morrison's horrable vocals on "..Numb"). However, I do like Water's reworking of "Nobody Home" on that..much better than the original LP version.
Shit..wtf is this like live chat? LOL LOL...we must be posting here at the same time, gonna have a look for that DVD next time I go buyin some for sure. Cant find The Wall movie DVD anywhere for the life of me accept online..wonder if its already out of print.

Although my favorite line-up was when Ian Anderson had John Evans, Barriemore Barlow(an outstanding drummer) and Jeffery Hammond Hammond.

i saw tull about a year ago in a small room in atlantic city. ian anderson had great difficulty gathering breaths for each phrase he would sing.
was he sick at one time? because this just didn't sound right.

Ian might've not been feeling well that night, although we saw them back in 1993 on the 25th anniversary tour in Mansfield , Mass and his voice was shot before the encore.

Was big into ELP when I was in college, especially their 3 record live set and "Works vol. 1".
Though I never understood what the big fat deal was about a stupid blade of grass behind a glass.
As far as Floyd, was big into "The Wall" and "Animals", but my absolute favorites were:
"The Piper At The Gates of Dawn"
"Saucerful of Secrets"
"Obscured by Clouds"
and "Ummagumma" (the studio side of this collection is completely whacked!)

My favorite band is The Eagles...saw them last summer and they sounded great live. They put on one hell of a show. Glen Frey wore the most amazing outfit....just a plaid sport coat, with an orange dress shirt and jeans but his shoes totally made the whole look complete, black and white patten leather....awhh so nice!

I didnt even know they went on tour again. Last I knew was that 1995 reunion album which had the few new tracks and the live accustic set. Eagles to me are kinda like Led Zepplin (as I posted in another thread lol) on how I am a fan of the solo work of the band but as a group didnt quite cut it for me. But I will say that I do love and own the final 2 Eagles LP's (Hotel California & The Long Run). Before those 2 they were a bit too mellow and kinda almost Country for me...but.."One Of These Nights" is a track I love from the older Eagles days😀

The tour was called Farewell 1 and they did a lot of thier solo stuff ... great tunes. I enjoyed the solo's but I'm truely the Eagles fan...hotel california...i can't tell you why....one of these nights...desperado....awhhh reminds me of my childhood!

as far as the eagles are concerned, i think desperado and take it to the limit are two of the best songs ever recorded.
the former just gets me deeply melancholy, but in a good way. the latter always invoked an image of me and a friend, tony. he was always down on his luck, and we envisioned a time many years ahead - he would be sitting on a dusty arizona byway, and i would come cruising by in my red convertable ferrari - we'd say hello after having not seen each other for ages - all along, that song would be heard as if coming from the sky.
we may have had a bit to drink when we came up with that.
i also think that don henley's the boys of summer is one of those songs i could listen to in a repetitive groove all the time.
