Hey gang,
I think I asked this before(a year ago)...

How did you find TMF and When?
And
Or more specifically...
What kept you? 😉

Well, got a computer one day.Wasn't planning on buying it but,it was a good deal so I bought one.Brought it home hooked it up and got on the internet highway.Went to search punched in "tickling" and as they would say rest is history.Found the TMF when,it was pretty new joined and have been enjoying myself ever since.Oh,I stay because it is fun.:happyfloa :happyfloa :happyfloa

After following all the various websites since 1996...I ended up on the original TMF that Psycho started which came after the Tickling Universe. When Psycho decided to stepped down for religious reasons a group got together to decide the future of the TMF. Jeff at MTP, Myriad, Bob Hare, Scooby, and many others (including me) had a chat online and the eventual decision was to create the site pretty much as you see it now...with Jeff hosting and various others moderating.

I've been a member ever since.

On a personal level I had my first web site around Summer, 2000 on the old GO.com network. It moved through various locations and now I have most of my mainstream pictures posted at the two locations listed in my signature. Neither site has been updated in along time as I post all of my finds here now.

hmm, I found the TMF when I got cable internet, that was like 2000 or something

Lurked a bit and on the new 1 I registered in 2001. I stayed mostly for the clips and every once I a while I posted something

Only recently have I begun to come here more often

I too came upon TMF the same way...I have been 'around" tickling since geez '94 or so...college internet connection..when A.N.A was the most prolific tickle video producer and A.S.F.T was the main source of tickling material and discussion...man does that seem like a LONG time ago...

If you must know, here's my history with the TMF. Please take good notes as there will be a quiz afterwards.

Let's see... It was a few years ago and I was browsing the net when I stumbled across the old SWTickle site. That was the first one I ever ran across dedicated to tickling and my homebase for a long time. Thereafter as its links section grew, I started popping onto other sites, and eventually found my way here. I lurked for a year or so, stopped coming when I was dating for several months, then finally on a whim, signed up last September after my ex-girlfriend and I went our seperate ways. Since then I've been a semi-regular poster.

And because I'm feeling nice, the quiz has been cancelled. Yay!

I bought a copy of "Tales From The Asylum" magazine, subscribed to it, and saw the URL of the TMF there in the summer of 2001. I lurked for about six months before joining and posting in January 2002. 😀

I found this place LONG before i registered, I always was scared to register and then i just bit the bullet and did it

Same as a couple others:

Tickling Universe -> Old TMF -> This TMF.

Ditto.

I used to email with Scott when he had the tickling Universe. When he got tired of sites always going down, the original was TMF was formed.

When that became so popular so quickly, the newer site was put together....the rest is history. 😀

I first found and became part of the tickling community online back in 1996. Back then, I discovered it through mIRC chat. I frequented the chat room #ticklefun back then, and over time became such good friends with the owners, Lionclaw and Foxytoy, that they made me a co-owner of the chat room. After around 2 years of operation, we began to have severe take over attempts, and we were eventually forced to close the chat room down forever.

Once the room closed down, I sort of disappeared from the community for a few years. The only fellow ticklephile I kept in touch with at all during that time was Terorizer. Then one day, 3 years later in 2001, I decided I REALLY missed the tickling community, and wanted to somehow get back into it. I subscribed back up with the AMT newsgroup, and the very first batch of postings that came in included one from Jeff (MTP Jeff). I clicked on it and read it, and within his post, he placed a link to the TMF. I followed the link, and knew I was home instantly. I registered immediately, and have nitched out a special spot on the TMF couch that only my big butt would fit it, ensuring my permanent place in the community once more.

Thank God for this place!

Mimi 🙂

'Twas St. Valentine's Day, 2003...I was out of woik, there was nothing to do, and I was online...out of sheer curiosity, I put the word 'tickling' in the Google. This place was the third or fourth place listed. I clicked on it, and before I even stepped foot into any of the forums, I registered. I sat there, trying to think of a screen name. I knew right then and there, that my screen name would not have the word 'tickling' or any derivative thereof; I surmised that there must've been hundreds of other 'tickling' screen names on this board, and I wanted to stand out. I didn't lurk for a minute, I chose my screen name (from a 19th century photograph of a hat factory in New York out of a book on a coffee table in my den), and joined, and posted within ten minutes. I've been here ever since. Every single, solitary time I go online, I come in here. That must obviously mean something.
I have seen other boards, such as 'Mousepad' for instance, and they really do nothing for me...this place is, for all intents and purposes, my jump off.

Let's just say I kind of stumbled on it one night while on line about six months ago. Gotta say though, I have met alot of kewl people and, like Knox, I go into the TMF whenever I go online, so I certainly must be enjoying it.

I was a member of the old TMF, but not to actively. Then I didn't really go to it for a long time. I only just made an account here recently.

I attended the NYST Halloween gathering in 2003 and heard lots of people talk about the forum. When I got home Monday, I looked in google and there it was. Would have liked to lurk longer after I registered, but NJJen posted to welcome me and I never looked back. I come here every time I go on line, too

Now let me get this straight in my noggin.

*Sound of gears stripping. Smoke pouring from ears*

The company was, maybe still is W.O.M (Never found out what that stood for, but I digress), and they had a publication Barefoot Digest Annual (Three times a year. Go figure!). That led me to a publication called In Step. That, in turn led me to a publication you may have heard of, Tales From the Asylum in which I saw the ad for the TMF, and decided at that moment "Dude, I'm getting a Dell!" Which I did all back in 2000. Why did I stay? Because my life was nothing without posting! Lurk? Me? Surely you jest! I jumped right in with both feet (Yes, pun intended), and I've been the sick and twisted individual you've all come to know and lothe...er...um...love ever since!

As somebody else once said "That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!"

Thank you

Yup, me too--not the lurking type (how can ya have any fun with anyone if they don't know you're THERE???) I can't remember exactly but I probably found y'all thru a search engine in November and it's been love ever since--everyone was so warm and welcoming.

I can't believe how many lame sites I found before coming here...🙄

XOXO

Hi, thats a good question asked.

I first came across the TMF whilst doing a search for tickling in google. I loved what I saw, so became a member. There is something for everyone interested in tickling on this site.

Long may the site continue.

Nige 🙂
