How did you come out of the tickle closet?

I am curious about this since I am still very much in the closet still when it comes to my interest in tickling. From reading posts here it seems a lot of people are more open about it as part of their lives with a partner.

Was it something you were introduced to or something you wanted to introduce with a partner?

I've found that people in the US seem to be a lot more open about these things. Over here and in the UK. I think we can be a little too uptight 😀. So as a result, we can be a bit more reluctant to share with others.

I've only ever really spoken about all this with people I've met from this and similar sites. I've never actually had a chance to talk to someone on the outside about it, but I'd have to guess that I probably wouldn't have the bottle for it. 😀

Can't say I really have. All the relations with partners, my fantasies could never be a part. Later as a born again single, I've rented models to play with, and that has helped greatly in scratching the itch, but those I had to pay for. Cheaper than therapy for sure, and as I'm not dating for a few years now, the only opportunity I've really had to let the tickle monster out to play. But with other people I'm in contact with, folks I would not be intimate with in any fashion, I've accepted I don't have to come out about these things anyway, like I once thought.

I wouldn't say I'm out of the tickle closet. Just those who need to know I've made aware. Wouldn't say we're more open in the US than overseas, I'd just say after living and learning you get more comfortable with it and sharing it with others in your life who should possibly know (usually anyone you intend or could possibly end up 'playing' with).

I always tickled the feet of my girlfriends and girls that I dated regularly, even during my closet days. They all seemed to understand that it was just something that I liked to do and only one girl commented about it. She asked why I tickled her feet so much and I just shrugged and said that it is something that I like to do. And then I kept tickling feet her for as long as we dated. At some point, though, I got tired of being in the closet and would just tell the girls that I dated that I had a foot fetish as soon as I could do it gracefully which was usually on the first or second date. I guess that I was just lucky, but I really believe that it is all in how you approach it. If you project that it is something weird then the girls will probably think that you are weird, but if you just go about it matter of factly with no embarrassment, they seem to accept it just fine. Now that I am older, I wish that I had been even more aggressive. I did chicken out a lot of times when I was younger and missed some great experiences. That played a part in my eventually coming out. I got tired of cheating myself out of hot foot tickling experiences.

I've also been more open with my friends about it. My best friend came out to me as bisexual last year and now we share everything.

I'm not usually one to be super-P.C., but I sort of object to calling it a "closet." You like tickling. If you "come out," you're not going to get disowned by your parents, beaten up on the street, or told you're going to hell by religious friends. These things happen to gay men, lesbians, and bisexual people every day. Comparing keeping your fetish secret to the pains that they go through almost cheapens their experience.

Also, if you treat it like a big deal, your partner will treat it like a big deal. It's much better to treat it like it's just a fun kink, and let your partner decide how to react.
