how many of you were introduced in the tickling world?

speaking with many people here, i found out that most of us always liked tickling or getting tickled, like if they were born with it, even if maybe they didn't know it was a turn on for them at first.

my story is different since i discovered a lot later, only some years ago when i started dating a guy (my ex boyfriend now) who was into it, how much i liked getting tickled, feeling vulnerable and things like that. how come for you? how many of you had a particular person in your life who introduced you in the tickle world?

You know, I'm glad you posted this, because I was wondering about it too. I don't like to use myself as an example, because my story is... pretty strange, from what I've seen of other people.

When I was younger, the thought of getting tickled terrified me, and not just the playful "oh no, they're gonna get me, runaway!" kind of deal, more like my "boogieman" was literally a black hooded figure wielding a giant feather. Read the plot for the Veggie tales Esther, which I saw in third grade, and you'll see what I mean. I saw that not JUST in theaters, but months later in my own classroom. I ran to hide in the bathroom when those horrors came on. Thankfully my teacher was too distracted for any awkward questions.
To try to deal with my own fear, I tried to imagine other people getting tickled, and it helped. It wasn't as scary, and I preferred it. As time passed, it went from a way of dealing with my own fears, to just a way to mentally pass time, and something that became more fun.

Then puberty came. It all went downhill from there. XD

So I don't know if fetishes like this really are something we're born with, or developed or what. Mine sort of developed from childhood, but I somehow doubt a lot of people have reasons like mine, lol.

I think we're born with the tickling gene

It's been discussed here many times but I like the topic, so I repeat myself: I think being tickler (or ticklee, for that matter) is something with which we are born. Were it just conditioning, then everyone who gets tickled a lot as a kid would grow up to be a tickler, too. But I've tickled women who told me about a childhood of getting tickled a lot by older sisters, etc. and they did not become ticklers themselves. Then there's those dreaded non-ticklish ticklers we've all known: They don't even know the tickling sensation but enjoy dishing it out. So, it must be the tickling gene!

I agree with Em Es, I feel I was born with it. I've loved tickling as far back as I can remember.

Well, maybe a majority of us are, except Markus is an example of the opposite. It's not unheard of for others to be converted to it. Rare, but not impossible. I don't know if it's a gene so much as... brain chemicals. Yep, that's what it is. Maybe our mothers laughed a lot when pregnant with us and it impressed upon our tiny little brains, so we grew up with the desire to hear more of it. 😀 Okay, maybe not the best hypothesis...

I don't know about the ticklees, though, I can't think of one for them.

I noticed when I started getting interested in girls in my pre-teens that I wanted to touch them and tickle them. I considered myself weird so I put in the back of my mind except the occasional flirt tickle or boyfriend tickling. It isn't until I found the forum, accidentally I might add, in my thirties that I realized it was a fetish and I wasn't alone.

I think we all felt that way. When I first started actually looking for stories with it, I was surprised by how much there actually was. Then I felt more normal again!
