I first discovered the online tickling community back in 1996. Back then I was chatting on an old mIRC chat room called #ticklefun. After about 2 or 3 years though, the chat room was forced to close down due to takeover attempts and I just fell out of the loop for a few years. Then in 2001, I decided to pop back into the tickling community online and see if any of my old friends were still around. I joined AMT, and one of the first posts I read was from MTP_Jeff, and in his post was an advertisement for the forum. I clicked the link and voila! Here I was. Nobody has been able to get rid of my since, though many have tried. 😀

I know I have posted this in threads before, but since this thread is about the topic, I will tell the story again.
I know I have posted on here in the past of how I received a Terms of Service violation from AOL after either being reported by a chat host or a girl I asked tickling questions to in another chat room. After receiving that email, in Aug 2002, I typed in keyword: Tickling, on AOL, and the page came up. Although my join date says Sept 9, 2002, I recall being in TMF a few weeks before in late Aug. After 2002, the rest is history, I'm here, and I havent left. I was so glad to find this place and connect with people like myself who have similar interests of tickling and feet as me. It was comforting. Finding this site is one of the best things that ever happened to me, as I have found a group of great online friends here. It is wonderful to know there are people out there with similar interests as me.

Psycho was at the end of his 3rd failed attempt at getting a huge tickling website maintained, and posted at the MousePad about how the Pad had maintained for so long and asked for suggestions. I had been sharing anonymous contributions to Psycho for I believe what was called Tickle Universe, so i sent him an e-mail telling him about some of the stuff at the Pad (and obviously he had conversations with other members there I am sure). One thing led to another, the TMF was born.

Of course, the "one thing led to another" includes people leaving, people doing an awesome job picking up where others left off, etc.

Basically, I have the same story as dajerx,
I found the internet around 1994 and found A.N.A's tickling web page.
A very early pioneer and then as dajerx said, I followed Psycho's site and came onto the board as soon as it started and was a regular contributer under a different handle(tcrewme then) and then changed my handle so it was clear that I was a guy and liked to tickle...

I remember it was QUITE turbulent around here when Myriads was left to pick up the pieces of TMF when Psycho suddenly left and found religion...anyway, the MOD's have rebounded nicely and I am on here pretty much every day.

I was housesitting for a lady friend of mine this past July who happened to own a computer. I never had access to a computer before so she showed me how to log on and even helped me get a Hotmail e-mail address. She left for vacation and there I was with the world at my fingertips. I entered "tickling" and clicked 'search'... there was some website devoted to tickling by a lady named Josie. I investigated a little further and clicked on the weblink for TMF...I finally found a family that understood me!!! I became friends with Steph who showed me the ropes and after my housesitting gig was up a few weeks passed and I bought myself a computer, which I am using at this very moment. Thanks to TMF, not only did I meet new tickle friends but I entered the 21st Century, too.

Funny side note: The lady who let me use her computer was a little upset with me because she was getting e-mail from people interested in tickling.

I guess I didn't quite know what I was doing when I logged on to TMF, but I'm glad I did. If that lady hadn't asked me to housesit her place, I would have never met all of you who mean so much to me now.

I actually discovered the tickling community in 96. I went in to a college computer lab, very back role and tickled in "tickling" in to infoseek.com. I can't remember the sites (although one was tickletown I think back when it was a members.aol.com home page... but correct me if I am wrong.) I thought that I was going to explode right there, always thinking that I was the only one and now discovering that I wasn't. I remember seeing MTP's website, and waiting for the time when I could order a video. I think at the time he was in MA, and I seem to remember a blond lady smiling on the front page, but I never could find that video (who was she and where is a clip.) Another site I remember seeing was solefullyyours. After moving to another school, getting a place of my own and getting internet access (no more visiting web at school to download to a floppy--back when I thought my membership to the FM Concepts website was great... until I found the the pictures where better than the videos), I found my way on the the TMF when psycho4048 opened it. I think I followed a link from Magic Touch, but I can't remember. I've come and gone often in the past couple years (when was the start date?). It is a nice (and I think decently safe) place to either find out about tickling, learn that you are not alone, or just chat with those with whom you have something in common.
