hypnosis to make someone ticklish

perhaps the same can be done to make someone from not ticklish to ticklish or even more ticklish during hypnosis and even after?

this may sound like it might not work very well or at all comparingly.

hypnosis does work

the only thing is, that the person being hypnotised wants to be ticklish/more ticklish.
think of it as the power of positive thinking. but forget trying to do it yourself. it is a real skill/tool, you have to be trained in hypno therapy.

If the person is not ticklish, you'll get them pretending to be ticklish when hypnotised. Or basically what they *think* it's like. And yes it's like seeing a bad video.

Slightly better with people who are ticklish, that you are trying to make moreso, as they have a basis to work from, and they tend to copy the responses they have on the places where they are ticklish to places where they are not, usually defining 'more' as more places not more sensitive.

Hypnotism is not magic. You can only work with what a person knows or can imagine well. For example, I can't hypnostise someone and say 'you are from Spain' and they will then speak Spanish, unless they know the language. The WILL do the worst accent you ever heard though.

No. The best you can do is make them *think* they are ticklish, and respond in the way they *think* a ticklish person acts.

SO you get this odd simlacrum of tickling. I find it not very satisfying.

Hypnotizing a very ticklish person into believing that he or she is no longer ticklish might work. Both experiments would be an interesting part of a potential Mythbusters episode entitled "Tickling Myths". I, along with many other viewers of the popular Discovery Channel program, have posted requests for a show (or at least a segment) about tickling.

Ok, how about my wife? She WAS ticklish but had it pushed down as a defence against her brother tickling her at a young age. Could hypnosis (or hell, anything else for that matter) bring her ticklishness back?

This is similar to me. I used to be extremely ticklish but then a traumatic violating event happened (that does not relate to tickling, btw) and now I am only ticklish if completely physically trust them....so like never. Lol.
