What a hoot,Why does anyone take this place so seriously?I did a post a while back mentioning the fact that boys and girls this is the world wide web.I come in here again tongue in cheek and get a good chuckle on some of the things I read or as one would say who are this people!Unless paths cross for real no one know's really who the next person is ,so why do you care if anyone thinks your a woman?In a world full of trouble that would be my least concern ,again this is the net.You know your not so there you go .If I get the nerve I am going to bring a therapist/musician in here.I ask what you all thought and I think 5 replied go for it,we will see.The Lady is 62 years old and a classical Pianist and a real good singer.I just did a Christmas CD on her.She reads some of these posts she'll have a heart attack.One thing about it we all have issues,some just more than others.RememberT.M.F.er's this is the internet and it for the most part is make believe and fantasy in here.

yes true this is the internet and who knows what is truth and what is not. heck for all i know what you just said might be an untruth Musician. how do we know you released a cd with that classical pianist? because we take your word for it? heck maybe many lie, but i try to be open and honest myself.

i am female, believe that or not, doesnt bother me. my husband knows the truth, plus some who have talked to me on the phone.

for some of us yes this is fantasy, only online stuff, but for many others it is very real. take for instance those people from this forum who have met and fallen in love. are we supposed to not believe it happened? i for one would love to believe everything i read here. call me naive call me silly.

Making a topic about a topic. Haven't seen this sort of thing in a while. Let's see if I can help straighten this out without taking a pounding.

I think what TM is trying to say is that there's no need to get all uptight about it because what other people think of you doesn't really matter. However, everyone else -myself included- seem to feel like bringing this up is a waste of time and furthermore it makes it seem like you're singling Ref out to poke fun at his situation. If you think he's being over sensitive about the situation, you could have pm'ed him with your thoughts instead of making light of it with this topic. That may not have been your intention but, it certainly looks that way.

Portions of this thread seemed like a direct flame against me, and I felt it was time to respond.

First and foremost, the suggestion was made that I am not aware of the many larger problems unfolding in the world. That comment is deeply insulting, and I’d like to address that first.

I am well aware of the many crises unfolding at home and abroad. I’m politically active and also regularly donate my time to several non-profit organizations in my area.

Furthermore, those of you who correspond with me know that I nearly died five years ago as the result of life-threatening injuries that I’ve struggled to recover from. Four people close to me passed away this year, and my family has endured painful experiences I won’t get into here. The bottom line is that I’m most definitely aware that there are more important things in this life than the TMF.

amk714 explained things quite well. I posted my original message because I’ve been mistaken for a woman so my times by members of the TMF. Furthermore, some of the people who contacted me were quite hostile about it. The young man who instant messaged me a few days ago became extremely pissed off when he learned that I’m a guy.

That’s another reason I placed my post. I’ve grown tired of receiving angry messages from people who mistakenly believe I’m a woman they can hook up with. I hoped to bring an end to this entire misunderstanding by posting here at the board.

Tickling opportunities in my area are sorely limited. I’m still hoping that I’ll meet someone as a result of my membership at the TMF. However, I felt the confusion about my gender and what I’m seeking could threaten such opportunities, and that’s another reason I decided to post.

As someone who also frequently gets confused as a guy (I'm a girl) I understand reflex's frustration. It's not that I'm hurt or offended, or I lie awake at night torturing my mind with the notion that someone might think I'm a guy, it just gets annoying to be answering IM's from girls thinking I'm a guy. No one's at fault, no one's to blame. But if someone plans on making any serious relationships out of this forum, and it sounds like reflex hopes to do that, they have every right and SHOULD be concerned about how they're being taken. You aren't going to have a very good relationship with someone if you find out 6 months into it that they're really a man and you thought they were a woman all this time (yeah okay so the chances of that are slim..but you get my point) At any rate, to some people this forum and the internet may very well be all fun and fantasy, but to some it's very serious, and I think that to be fair and respectful to everyone we should let them worry about what they want to worry about. If TM wants to lie awake at night pondering why reflex is worried about people thinking he's a woman, let him. If he has so few issues in his life that he has time to be worrying about about something like this that has no concern to him, maybe if we all try to be a little bit more like him, we could all be issue-free and have the time to post threads like these questioning the motives and depth of other members of this should-be-very-friendly place 🙂 I say we all try to be a little more like TM 🙄
