I just want to tell you....

Hold on there, Kis. (You didn't have the massage yet, did you). Don't lose your composure, honey. You just said that God will take care of things. Take a deep breath... let it out... there. Give your troubles to God. Relax, and you'll feel better in the morning. There's a bigger picture that you can't see yet because your anger is distorting the view. Let go of the anger. You'll see more clearly after a good night's sleep. (Kiss on your forehead) Sleep well.

I'm up at least another 1-2 hours. If I get another paper written by then, I'll be close to catching up in one of my classes. I have to get my accounting homework turned in by midnight Weds. I'll get as much done as I can by then. I meet the tutor on Thurs evening--for 20.00/hr, he'd better be good!

I'll have to find the money for massages. Did I mention that I'm presently unemployed? You'd think that would give me all the time in the world to do homework. But, looking for a job consumes more time than working a job. The pickins' are pretty slim in my area but I have to keep going so I can get through school. I have to finish school--nothing else matters at this point. Maybe after I get my degree, I can find a job.

Well, it's reading time and I gotta get back to work. Thank you for your support. As humiliated and upset as I've been feeling all day, I knew I could find some comfort and compassion from you guys on this board. Thank God for all of you!!

Kis.

what was that they said, "Mommy said there would be days like this". Nonetheless, I am sorry to hear about your misfortunes. I'm afraid that I can't offer too much more than Frankie offered (which was good advice, I may add). Tomorrow is another day.

Look on the bright side, you are close to finishing school (you graduate in Dec). That is a big deal. You definitely have your priorities in order. Once you get your degree, you will be so much better off.

When you feel better (no migrane) you can go back to the gym as well. that's a great stress relief as well.

Just hang in there, you'll be fine.

Giantfan, I think this thread you started may have changed Kis's life. You never know how something you do will affect the lives of others. I've said it before but I'll say it again... thanks for this thread and I wish you continuing success!

Thanks again Frankie:

I really did not expect this thread to take off like it has but nonetheless, I am glad that it did.

Thanks again!!

Hello everyone;

So much for the "perils of Pauline" stage of my life. Yeah, it's been pretty horrible, but what can you do? I just don't want all of this to be in vain, so I want to learn the lesson from all of this. These problems aren't taking place in my life because God needs amusement. So, I'm sure there's a bright side to this, I just can't find it at the moment.

I'm feeling better, so I'm hoping I can make it to the rec center today before class. I'm working on a large project with four people and one of them has been riding on our backs the entire time she's been in school. I hate users! Do your own work, get your own grade!

Well, enough of that. Thanks to everyone who has shown comapssion and have encouraged me not to go "postal" on the idiots in the unnamed county. I guess I'll remain a part of the free world!

Gotta run! Lots of work to do before class today. I don't know if I'll get all of it done, but I'm going to try!

*HUGS* to Frankie, Giantfan and Kis

Kis honey look for a mail from me by the weekend( I appologize I've been AWOL but have started teaching and trying to settle back into life wiht a new roommate ect) .
Good going hon. Rememeber that old chestnut "Today is the first day of the rest of your life"? Well in this case I think it applies.

And I just graduated University hon, BOY do I know what you mean about the users bit. I used to HATE doing group stuff cause usually 1% of the group does 99% of the work!

After a summer from hell, my best friend and I are dusting off our gymshoes and going to kick arse @ the gym again after about a 3 months hiatus. We belong to the YMCA and were going every morning, but with family issues, job issuse ect we stopped.

Drop me a mail or PM whenever you like kis, as I said I'll be in touch over the week with a really long mail

Ghostie!

😀

Hey, Ghostie, Giantfan and Kis! (Group hug... just no high fives. I can't stand that) I admire anyone who goes through the college grind. I mention that I've been to college but I've never graduated. I've always had a math and science phobia... I could always go back and find a good tutor. As for the unemployment thing, I'm in a similar predicament. Yes, I'm self-employed as a Reflexologist, but when the phone stops ringing, I have to make calls to find people who want a session, or I have to go out and pound the pavement soliciting my services, which I really don't like to do. (I'm not a high pressure salesman). So, I know exactly what you're going through, Kis. I can't even afford to get a massage myself because I've got enough bills as it is. That's when having a friend in the business comes in handy... you can do trades. Well, this is the first of about 3,000 posts I'll do today unless the phone rings. Keep your spirits up, everyone!

Kis, one thing I can think of, in regard to the bright side of your predicament, is that you are *holding index finder and thumb about 1" apart* is that you are this close to your degree. About 3 more months. I went through the rigamore of college, and when I graduated, I celebrated ( a little too much, one reason I don't drink Jack Daniels). Just see the forest through the trees. The hard work now will pay off dearly in the end. From your posts, I see you as a fighter, don't prove me wrong. you can do it!!

Giantfan, I know she can do it. But, for added incentive... Kis, you get your degree and I'll give you ten free Reflexology sessions... now, how I get there to give them to you is another story... but they're yours!

If I can, you can!

My father, a teacher for 16 years~had a Master's in Poly Sci, never put away a dime of money in a college fund for us kids. Although we were expected to attend anyhoo. I worked 3 jobs, carried a FT load, dropped out from exhaustion for a year and a half with ONE class left. So it rook me 6 1/2 years to get a BA, but I did it, and did it on my own.
I originally attended w/free ride athletic scholarship to BC but missed Cali weather and surrendered it~what a dunce I know! My freshman year, there was a gal who graduated at 82!!! Never too late, friends!

XOXO

I have a friend who got a lady pregnant while they were in high school, yet he married her, raised the kids (three all together), worked at a shoe store WHILE attending college full time WHILE working part-time at his Aunt's bar as a bartender... and when he came to this country he couldn't speak a word of English. (He's that Italian guy, Steph). He graduated, went to Law School and became an attorney upon graduation.*

* Sad note to story: He eventually got divorced from that lady but that was looong after he worked his butt off to become a lawyer.

WOW, Steph, my hat off to you...

I thought I had it rough, but you got me beat hands down. One good thing out of it is that it made you a better and stronger person.

Most of the time, I worked F/T and carried a full time load as well. My rents paid my Frosh year only and the rest came out of my pocket.
Not to mention that I was paying alomst all of my expenses (car, clothes, some food etc...). I can't imagine working 3 jobs while carrying a F/T load. No wonder you suffered from exaustion. Good for you, nonetheless. That's perseverance.

It took me five years to graduate, but nonetheless. I did. It never matters when you turn the tassle, as long as you do. Steph is right, it's never too late.

Yeah, Giantfan, Steph made some major accomplishments and so did you. Now Kis is stepping up to the plate and when she swings I hope she hits that ball right out of the park! College ain't easy... take it from a dropout.

Thanks guys~Kis has added extras I didn't have to deal with~she's a single mom w/a son with special needs. She herself suffers from painful condition. I hope she doesn't hate me for revealing this. She is a strong, beautiful, determined woman. It may take little time but she can do it. The struggle to get there is so heartbreaking...I can't imagine what she's going thru!

XOXO

Excellent point....

But that will make us more proud of her WHEN she gets that piece of paper

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh absolutely!
and she will feel that much more amazing than she is already!

XOXO

Totally agreed! From what I saw, you're pretty amazing too, hon. There is someting to be said for your accomplishments.

oh no~I'm just regular girl who struggled a little~her obstacles are far more severe than anything I ever had to deal with...

XOXO

I go to class for a couple of hours........

And look what I come back to! A regular love-fest is taking place behind my back!:grouphug: You guys are so incredibly sweet!

Steph, it's okay about my son and my medical condition. I talk about it a lot in the hope that it helps someone else who has to live with crummy circumstances in their lives. I believe that God doesn't drop us with these burdens and says "now go figure it out for yourselves". I believe that He uses the circumstances in our lives as examples of strength for others to see. Everyone has a story of tragedy-triumph and someone else needs to hear it just to make it through another day. So I hope I can do that for someone out there-to be an example for others.

I have two classes and a DANTES test left in order to finish my degree requirements. I'll be glad when it's over! So many crazy things have happened over the last couple of weeks that I look to the sky and hope the kitchen sink doesn't drop from the clouds!

Well, carry on with your encouragement and positive attitudes. There are so many threads on this board that are negative and attack other members. This one has been great! I look forward to hearing from even more of you who are struggling with weight, or are beating the battle of the bulge and have advice for the rest of us who may be just getting started.

I have to read a chapter in my accounting class. The next few weeks are going to be insane. But I'll be on this thread as much as I can because someone is always saying something I can use to get through my day. Thanks!😀 😀

Well, God did pick the right person. Now that I think about it, I made a couple of comments on some previous threads about your circumstances. I said it then, and I say it now. I greatly admire you for what you have had to deal with. Life is tough enough with a spouse and two kids without special needs.

This has been my whole life story. I may start another thread when I finally get where I want to be for advise on how to KEEP it off. I never want to see a size above 40 waist again (I'm 38 now)
