I.Q stands for "I quit", as in smoking. There are obviously alot of reasons, such as being around for my family, and an overall healthier lifestyle, but one is a because of a step up I am taking.
As some of you know, I have begun studying martial arts over the last year, and I decided that I wanted to begin sparring with other students. My school holds sparring once a week. For those not that familiar with sparring, it's like getting into a boxing ring but doing Tae Kwon Do vs. boxing. Anyway, during one of my recent classes, I was doing some no contact sparring which is an very abbreviated round of actual sparring. It's only about a 30 second round as opposed to a 3 minute round in regular sparring. I was surprised at how winded I was after what seems like a very short time and I know I am in decent shape.
I know that tobacco addiction is a very strong addiction, but I have done it before, but for reasons I'd rather not mention, started again. I think one thing I have going for me is that I have never bneen a heavy smoker, but by the same token, I have smoked at certain tmes of the day as a form of relaxation, and I consider myself a creture of habit. I actually have been feeling guilty lately because sometimes when I smoke I think of my kids, so that alone can be an incentive.
Wish me luck.
