but if you had your choice to meet three people, who would they be and why?

My choices are

Bill Parcells:

I think it's a crime that he is not in the Hall of Fame. Here is a coach which took three teams, who were the laughingstock of the NFL and turned them into contenders. the Giants won two superbowls, and were a perennial playoff team during most of his tenure. The Patriots went to the superbowl two years after they finished 1-15, and the Jets made it to the AFC championship also two years after finishing 1-15. He gets the most out of players, which alot of them were sleepers in the draft, and went on to have decent NFL careers.

Sly Stallone:

I mostly identify with him from his Rocky movies (which are my all time favorites). He shows that anything is possible. He is truly an inspiring person.

Eddie Murphy:

One of the funniest men on the planet. I just want to meet him so I can laugh my @$$ off and forget about the day to day stress that goes on.

I know I said three but I also want to add Phil Simms to the list as an honorable mention. A much maligned QB till Parcells came in and made him into a legit QB who went on to have a borderline Hall of Fame career (OK, maybe I'm a little biased), but there is someting to be said about that. He never gave up. Plus, he seems like a true gentleman.

Crazy Horse...

Because he was the antithesis of his people, yet led them to their greatest victories, and died way too young.

Jellicoe.. because on a very misty day, with absolutely no info from the people who should have been supplying him with data, he managed to make the one maneuver that caused the German Fleet to realize it could never fight the Brits on equal terms, and in that moment he effectively won WW1. Then over the course of the next decade took a bunch of shit from people who didn't appreciate how brilliant he was.

and Custer to ask, WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING?.

If you have the ability to meet anyone ever why waste it on an Over rated football coach. and an actor who can't act who only makes formulamatic movies?

I wouldn't mind meeting Murphy though.

:atom: Life is full of choices:atom:

Really a tough choice to come up with just three people, I'd have to say:

Groucho Marx
B.B. King
Hulk Hogan

These folks must have tons of great stories to tell plus I get the impression that they're also very nice people.

Runner's up would be:

Boris Karloff
Bonnie Raitt
Carol Burnett

Drew

Stephen Hawking - one of the most brilliant minds of our time

Sir Peter Ustinov - a fascinating person with tons of humor

Heidi Klum - for a prolongued tickle session... 😛

Well, given that it's rather difficult to meet people who have already passed through this life, I'll stick with those who are still with us. (I'm assuming that this means meet them and actually have a chance to sit and talk with them.)

Pope John Paul II - Because he's had an amazing life. He's been through so much that would bring most people down without losing his faith or determination. He's taken chances for the sake of others that I'd probably never have the guts to take. Once he comes to a conclusion about something, he sticks to his guns no matter what others think of him. I could take some lessons from him!

Mel Gibson - I really enjoy him as an actor and respect him as a person. I think he'd be a joy to share a quiet dinner and an evening of conversation with.

I'll have to think about 3#.

Ann

Wow..

Hulk Hogan (I met him once in Cleveland, he is a hell of a nice guy),
Ustinov, Samuel Clements. Those are inspired choices!!!
As is Heidi Klum LOL. I've always thougt of Gibson as being a spectacularly down to earth sort of fellow. Your typical Aussie.

I'll argue Hawkings brilliance. Most of his work is fluff and derived from others more original work. His main brilliance is in promoting himself.

and a bunch of others. Too many to name right now.

there are many people, but here is a sample.

1) Hulk Hogan- he was my role model growing up. i always wanted to meet the man. wrestling may be fake, but he was a great source of inspiration for me during my teenage years.

2) Madonna- i think it would be interesting to meet this woman who has caused such news over her career.

3) Hugh Heffner- why not? he's Hugh Hefner!

this is a sample, there are many others, but they stand out to me.

This is an interesting thread. This is one of those topics, like "who would you want to tickle," that I change my mind about depending on the moment. Off the top of my head...

1. Stephen King: Like him, or hate him, than man is a genius and has gone as far in his field as anyone can go.

2. Sheryl Crow: I really admire this woman. I like her music and she seems like such a sweet lady. I'd like to have a convo with her and get a chance to look into those pretty eyes close up.

3. My dad's father: Never met him. It would be interesting.

4. An Uncle on my mom's side who's gone: see above.

That's four, here's some others...

Michelle Pfeffer: I'd like to see if could carry on a cool and calm convo with her, or just end up doing the Jackie Gleason, hummin nah, hummin nah...

Kid Rock: He looks like he's having fun every time you see him. I think he'd be fun to party with. Like him, or hate him, he's dating Pamela Lee, causing a lot of guys, including her ex-husband, to eat their hearts out.

The Stay Puff Marshmellow Man: Naaaaahhh! Just kidding.

There's others, but I'll leave it at that.

Hmmmmmm...let's see...

1) Novelist John Irving. I've always imagined the conversation that would ensue...

2) Comedian/commentator Al Franken. I'm jealous...my best friend met him last week at a book signing in New York. Like the previous, we'd have a great conversation.

3) NYPD Blue's Charlotte Ross. Just to experience the electricity conducted by the most beautiful woman I've ever seen on TV...

Other people I would've liked to have met:
Abraham Lincoln
Mozart
Andy Warhol
Albert Camus
Alice Roosevelt Longworth
Pierre-Auguste Renoir
Sinclair Lewis
King George IV
Humphrey Bogart
Golde Meir
Babe Ruth
...................

1. my kids birthmothers (I know 2 in one!), I don't think I would want them to know who I was but I would like to see them, study their faces, their personalities. To see the woman who gave life, who placed their children unselfeshly, who created my two beautiful kids.

2. Uduska, my great aunt lost in the holocost who I was named after.

3. Joe Torre the great man who brought my Yankee team success!

hmmmm the three i can think of off the bat are: abe lincoln and john f kennedy (these guys fascinated me since childhood...not sure why) and my dad's dad...because i've often wondered what he was like (been told he was a quiet and shy man...but would've been nice to find out for myself). also samuel clemens...william shakespeare....edgar allan poe...george bernard shaw...(like to read:blush: ) ummm as for living celebrity types...david copperfield, david blaine just to get into their heads and figure out why they do what they do....also abbot and costello, gene kelly, fred astaire, jimmy stewart...among others(p.s. yes i realize the others i listed after blaine are dead...just can't think of any living celebs that grab my attention nearly as much)

ty AphxA for that sweet comment about me being one of the many people you'd like to meet..i think it'd be fun to chat with some of ya too. 😀

I thought of another person I'd like to meet.....William Shatner.

Must...meet...Captain...James...Tiberious...Kirk!!!

I like the responses. Alot of interesting people and ideas.

I have to admit when I made my selections, I limited it to people that were still alive today. If I expanded it to people that were gone, some of my choices that stand out are

My grandmother on my mothers side

She died long before I was born, but, from what my mother and aunts told me about her, she was a very resoursful woman. I could have learned alot from her. She lived on a farm in southern Illinois, and the only thing they bought from the store was sugar.

Martin Luther King

For what he did for equal rights. there is nobody with more courage than him. What he did was revolutionary.

Jackie Onasis

Just a very classy lady

Alexander Hamilton

He was my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather on my mothers side.

Another guy I just thought of is John Grisham

I really enjoy reading his books. He has a way of creating a vivid picture in your mind when you are reading his stories.

Rod Woodson: One of the greatest football players ever.

Dean Koontz: By far my favorite author. Loved all of his books that I read.

Stone Cold Steve Austin: One of the greatest wrestlers and entertainers of all time.

Great thread GF..I chose those already passed because they are people that have had a great impact on my life..

Those alive still would be....

Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

Walter Cronkite

and just for fun Katie Couric 😉

As for TMFers, I have met many and would like to meet as many more as possible. It is great to be able to sit down face to face and talk with people that I have posted with over the last two years. I am always open for get togethers whenever possible.......so..if you're ever near the NY/CT area...please email me to let me know and perhaps we can hook up for a visit....

Thank you, Venray:

Coming from you, that's a real compliment.

I guess the reason why I started this thread was to learn about some of the people I have had the pleasure of posting with over the short time I have been in the forum. Generally, I see a pretty well rounded group. Alot of diffeent interests out there. I have met a few people but some others I would like to meet over time would be

Venray
Knox the Hatter (I'm just glad your not a Dallas fan, LOL)
Tickle Duo Ann
Tickle Duo Drew (Rush fan 😎 )
Jobelle
Dave2112 (Rush fan 😎 )
BBE
naturaltickler
areenactor
Ticklemeeeeeeee
Tron (to trade football stories with, though I'm sure you have alot more than me being I stopped after HS)

I look forward to continue posting with you all and over time we can meet face to face.

I want to add my kudos for coming up with such an interesting thread, Giantfan. Lot of great responses and really got me thinking about folks who have influenced my life. (living or passed on) I'm sure I can add 50 more to my list.
We're all gonna have together with the mighty Venrays when all the craziness going on right now in our lives finally calms down.
Hope everyone is doing well😎

Drew

Thank u Giantfan 🙂 I'd like to hang out with u sometime too🙂

John Candy (I know...if he was alive)
Paula Poundstone
The Osbournes
Shania Twain
George Strait
Al Franken
Michael Douglas
Charlie Sheen

That's it for now but I reserve the right to come back...lol

All right, let's see...

Jesus Christ: I'm only "somewhat" religious, but Jesus always seemed like a cool guy. He stuck by his friends, helped out the weak and unfortunate, and gave rise to a religion that has endured for 2000+ years. Also, if possible, I'd take him by Jerry Falwell's house (or any loud-mouth televangelist, really), so good old JC could officially tell Jerry to STFU.

Jackie Chan: Everyone knows him as the funny little guy who does Kung-Fu movies. He's also a MASSIVE entrepreneur in Asia, (he has everything from a clothing line to food products) and contributes massive amounts of time and money to various charities, particularly those aimed at helping children.

Teddy Roosevelt: My favorite US President... 'Nuff said.

As for TMF members, that's one loooooooooooooooooooooong list. 😀 We oughta just rent a stadium in some central location and throw the first-ever TMF keg party...
