You might trying clearing the cache in Internet Explorer. Sometimes that helps. Goto Tools click on that and open Internet Options and then under Temporary Internet Files select Delete Files then when done select OK. When I have browser trouble this is often the first thing I do though if Foxfire is giving you problems too it could be something else.
Do you have a third-party pup-up blocker? If you use some types of firewalls, anti-virus products, and other security software, they may have pop-up blockers as part of their arsenal. These would need to be disabled.
