Hey all! I'm not even sure if this is the right forum to post this, but I've done a cool little experiment. The site facethejury.com allows you to create your own polls for your page. Its one of those myspace type pages where you just post pics and a little about yourself and people can rate you blah blah blah. Anyway, you can allow anyone to answer your poll or set it to men only or women only. I set mine so only women could answer it. Below are the results. I waited until it got over 100 responses before posting it here. Interesting to see where these ladies are ticklish! Most of the girls on this site are between 18 and 25 years old. Many of them very hot!

Not really, no. In fact, chances are more likely that they actually exaggerated the ticklishness of their feet because of the social belief of feet being so ticklish.

I agree. People tend to overestimate how ticklish their feet are. Kind of the same way people think that feathers are effective tickling tools, when they're actually not, in most cases. In my experience, people are usually more ticklish on their upper body (including the armpits), which I personally find unfortunate. Extremely ticklish feet are actually somewhat rare.

Frankly, I don't find the poll's results for underarms to be credible at all. I'm quite sure that in reality, at least as many people are ticklish there than on their feet, probably more.

Still, even though the results are almost certainly inaccurate, it was a neat experiment. Thanks for sharing the results.

Thanks for the feedback. What would have been REALLY cool is if they would have let me see the results from each particular participant. So then I'd know "soandso" was most ticklish on their hips, etc. But I guess that's getting greedy.

I had no control over the results. And I didn't influence anyone's responses. I'm just posting what the results were after 104 responses.

I agree that the armpit results are indeed ridiculously low, but I'm not too sure about feet. In real life, people tend to be more ticklish on their upper body than on their feet, no matter how much foot tickling fans would like it to be otherwise (I'm one of them). Maybe it is a bit low, I don't now, but it's still a lot more credible that the number of armpit answers the poll got. I guess the armpits aren't the most likely targets in a spontaneous, everyday life tickle attack, compared to the lower torso (more easily protected, possibly a bit unpleasant to touch for some people). So people aren't that aware of how sensitive their armpits are. Also, as was suggested before, people in general tend to associate feet with tickling, so feet got a fair percentage of answers even though they're usually even harder targets to reach than the armpits.
