Interesting Restraint for Tickling?

I was searching for info on Stocks for Tulipangel's recent thread, and I came across this unusual device. It's called a "cavert," and it's basically a large metal triangle with restraints for the wrists, ankles, and neck.

This thing seems to have some real possibilities for tickling: once a 'lee is locked into one of these he or she is going nowhere. The only reason I'd hesitate to use it is the same reason that I always shy away from metal restraints: they aren't kind to struggling. OTOH the cavert looks a lot more interesting than handcuffs, so it might be worth fiddling around to find some way of padding it a bit. Even a couple of layers of leather lining the restraints would probably be enough.

Seems it might be more useful for T&D play, maybe light tickling. Though personally, I don't think I'd enjoy that "bent over" kind of position for very long.

Yes, that's my main problem with it - with all metal restraints, actually. I almost didn't post it for that reason, but I decided that the potential of something like this outweighed the difficulties. More precisely I'm thinking that it might be possible to modify this thing or to make something like it without the discomfort.

One possibility would be to make a metal triangle just like this one, but with padded cuffs and a padded collar attached in place of those metal rings. Another way might be to pad those rings somehow. It certainly seems worth trying.
