Internet Explorer Frozen

I just awakened briefly in the middle of the night, and Internet Explorer is down. I keep getting a message that says "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close". I was able to access the forum from Google Chrome. I do have the latest version of IE installed, so it must be their issue.

Anyone else having problems with them?

my IE freezes sometimes and has to close.. it can be quite annoying, i think it's bc i over work my lap top though and i click on links before IE is fully loaded

This has been going on all night where I cant open it. I can access certain things from Google Chrome, but not everything. I dont know if the IE is corrupted, or if Microsoft is having a problem in general.

Anyone else having IE access issues?

I hope so, because I haven't been able to access IE all night. Also, I cant access my Hotmail account from Google Chrome. I'm having all kinds of problems.

Hopefully MS will get their acts together.

I got an alert that updates are ready to be downloaded. If you're set for automatic updates and your system is overwhelmed, it could be from that trying to run on top of things. But, with the issues you've been having lately, I suspect there may be something else going on. If you want to PM me with an e-mail addy, I'll send you a program I use in addition to my antivirus to keep my system pretty much clean.

I still cant access IE. I'm accessing the forum via Google Chrome. I cant use one of my email addys with this browser.

In my case, I have a lot of favorites saved on my old IE, which will be lost if I cant access it, but... with as old as my computer is, and with my main concern just being able to get online to work, post, and chat, I may have no choice in the matter.

It looks like I may be absolutely screwed when it comes to getting into the chat room. I don't go in the chat as often as I used to, but.. when I've tried to enter with both Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome, I keep getting a message that says I have to do a plugin to get in there, and the message says " Downloading this file can potentially harm your computer, and cause permanent damage". GRRRRR! This piece of shit computer already is giving me enough headaches. Either I will have to see if I can get a new version of IE, or I may just have to accept the fact that I will be a message board person ,until I can get a new laptop.

This computer has been driving me crazy the past week! I wonder if it's telling me that it's ready to go to the big computer junkyard in the sky!

i agree... computers like to be cautious... they don't want to damage your computer, if you recognize the site then download it...

I dont recognize the site, and the Explorer is still frozen. At this point, I've given up. I have Google Chrome to surf the net, and Firefox to play my movie stock game. I can access my chatrooms, and do my work. Also, my favorites seem to be saved, as, if I type the first letter of the favorite, it automatically comes up.

As I've posted previously, this is a very old computer. As long as I can do my work, and get to sites, I'll just use Google Chrome. It isnt worth putting any money in to fix this thing. I'll just use it, hopefully for a long time, until it dies. At which point, I'll have to get a laptop,
