Internet roleplaying game

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a really cool roleplaying/adventure game that you can play online with others. My friend mentioned one to me last year, but I've forgotten the name. Something like "Triumph" or "Paradise", or something like that.

Any ideas?

I like to play role playing games by my lonesome personally so this might not be the most educated opinion in the world, but I have heard good things about "Everquest". Hope this helps.

Everquest, and then there's also Asheron's Call, which I've heard good things about, and if you like text, look up Dragon Realms. I'm not much into online gaming, either, however. The whole, paying to play thing is what deters me. I don't want to sound like a freeloader, but why shell out fifty bucks on a game that your gonna have a steady bill to pay in order to play it? Then again, there's always Diablo II, which offers free online playing, if you count it.

I haven't played Everquest, but I've heard it's mostly like Asheron's Call with a different setting. And while it's not a bad game, if you're into Roleplaying, there is none. If you're a big nerd like me, you might want to check out www.carrionfields.org It's all in text, but roleplaying is enforced, if you don't roleplay, you're kicked out.

Cyrano, I looked up that site, and it looks pretty cool. I tried to connect, but it would not respond to my keyboard (i.e. I couldn't type anything when it asked me what my name should be.). Do you have to pay for this, or register in the forums first?

I'm big into roleplay, but not on the net. If you like fantasy stuff, check out White-Wolf's 'Exalted', it is truly kick arse. You need to buy the literature tho, but its not too expensive.

I beleive that White Wolf have there own forums, and that online games of Exalted are often played. Never tried, to busy writing ones off the net, lol....

No, you don't have to pay or register, however, I had the same problem at first. In fact, I had to download a program to be able to see what I was typing. www.zuggsoft.com/zmud/down.asp#zMud though for that program you do have to pay. However, there should be a free version at the bottom. I didn't pay, nor do I have the free version, but I've no clue when it comes to computers and got lucky I guess. I would recommend getting one of the trial versions of zMud and getting used to the game before making any decisions. It's good to know I'm not the only nerd around here 🙂

Another good multi-player RPG is 'Neverwinter Nights'. You can create your own adventures, and even have a dungeon master. If he/she thinks the game is too easy or hard, he/she can change the adventure in real time.
