Is a tickling fetish more about control or is it more about sensation?

For me it is about being control of another persons' sensations. Of course this can only work if the other person loves surrendering control and has to endure the intense tickling sensations. I love to find those areas where I get the most hysterical reactions and also, moans and sigh's. I think , to some degree, it is all about the sensations. As the "sensation controller" I enjoy taking the lee/sub from uncontrollable laughter to teasing to the brink, then repeating.

As a ler, I am fascinated by how much feeling I can evoke in my lee, either playful or sensual--it's all about how much sensation I can give to him.

I agree. It is about being in controle of somebody who wants to lose total controle. And lets face it making a pretty girl laugh is alway fun... especialy if my pants aren't down when it's happening.

control vs sensation
For me as a 'lee it is about control. When I am at my most vulnerable physically and mentally, waiting to see if the 'ler will take me over the edge. I have a hard time letting go and giving up control, and if they can take me beyond that with sensation so that my body just reacts, this is what I am seeking.
As a 'ler I am concentrating on the sensations I am creating. I can see how they are reacting immediately. Something I want to work on is to take someone to their limit and push them beyond.
The other day I did a session where ticking was a small part of it, I didn't go as far as I could have. I'd like to do a session with tickling is the main focus and then really play with the control aspect.

It is different for me depending on the role.
When I'm the one being tickled it is about the sensation. I'm thinking about how it feels and what the feeling are doing to me. But when I'm the one doing the tickling it is still about the senation but I am more inclined to say control because I'm the one who is controling what the other person feels and gets to control where they are going to be tickled. So I think it is a mixture of both but it really depends on the role as to which is more dominate.

I think it's about both in equal measure. I don't enjoy tickling someone without having control over them, like if someone just sticks their foot in my lap and invites me to tickle it, then just sits there smiling.
But also, I wouldn't enjoy tying someone up and tickling them if they weren't reacting strongly to the sensation. I can't imagine one without the other, control without sensation, or sensation without control.

Having no control over stopping the sensations is another sensation in itself 😉It's definitely the whole package, but if I'd really have to choose, I'd say, being controlled is the part, that really turns me on.

Its completely about both for me.

For me i guess it would all depend on what position i would be in. If i were to be a lee it would be about the sensation, because the feeling of someone dragging their nail up and down my soles and me laughing myself to exhaustion is just a wonderful feeling. As a ler it would be all about control. Torturing a victim and have full control over their amount of laughter maybe ever tears is a empowering stimulation

I have to say that I feel a tickling fetish is more about sensation than control; I also agree I have to say it can be a mixture of both elements but since this is not permitted. If I had to pick just one-I think that sensation is what matters most-yes control is great-it is fun to playfully be in charge and be the one playfully in control, causing their lee to react powerfully to him or her...but playful control over one's lee only goes so far. So that is why even though I can be submissive at times but majority time enjoy being the "dominant" ler more-most definitely have to say sensation.
I say sensation because-I feel one can easily over time if the lee is trying to resist and does not want to give in right away or doesn't want to give in and all-doesn't want to "break" and doesn't want to surrender-that I believe a lee can in some ways over time can control their reactions to whether or not he or she will surrender to the tickle torment. However when it comes to the overwhelming sensations of being tickled; I believe this is more difficult and I believe that pleasure and feel good sensations are lot harder and almost impossible to block and stop let alone escape from. That is my view on this. So for me

For me, as a lee, it is mostly about the sensation. Tying me down is only a practical matter, to keep me from thrashing about too much. And unlike many lees, I give my lers plenty of information and explicit verbal feedback about my ticklish spots to really get me good!
Furthermore, I've recently played with a few lers recently who combined other kinds of sensation play into a scene, including scratching, and stinging with some kind of "mini-cane", and I loved it!

I'd have to agree, it's more about the sensations. I often enjoyed the sensations when i was a lee. And now that I'm more of a ler, I find myself imagining what the lee is feeling.

For me, it's a little bit about the laughter. When I watch tickling videos, I love hearing strong, genuine laughter that sounds almost like the 'lee is laughing at something extremely funny instead of being tickled. I also like to hear a few "please stops" sprinkled into the laughing, though not excessively so.
However, control is a pretty big thing with me. I'm mostly a 'lee, and I enjoy the thought of being controlled by a woman. I can remember one time back in sixth grade when my teacher had us play a review game for English class. The game was boys vs girls. Well, the girls won that game, and they won fairly big, too. We guys didn't get completely creamed, but the difference between the two scores was pretty big. Now, at the time, I did act like I was ticked off over losing the game, but deep down, I found it kind of exciting---not in a sexual way, though (it's kind of hard to describe). After that, any time I was taking part in a game that was males vs females, I felt the same type of excitement any time the females won (or got ahead in score).
When I think about it, I think that has something to do with the direction in which my tickle fetish has gone. I think that's why I get such a kick out of f/m tickling. There's just something about a woman having that kind of power that is exciting. I'm not sure why I see things that way. All I know is that I do.

Actions speak louder than words - and the clips I've bought have snug restraints and lots of playful verbal teasing in them, so I'd say that control is a big part of it. But I'd have to put sensation first, since other types of non-tickling control (i.e. domination) don't appeal to me. Plus, the genuine reactions... twitching, breathless laughter, squirming to get away... and if control were more important, I think the mere act of tickling would be good enough.
I think a lot of people have explored the third, not listed, option, which is the reaction to the tickling itself. I think it is hard to separate control from sensation and then separate laughter from it also.
