We have some people here who are well-versed in mythology (I think I remember Mastertank, among others). Are Satan and Lucifer even the same notion, in the Judeo-Christian mythology? I think I remember they are distinct personalities.

Neither he, nor the Christian version of God, exist, which is a good thing for both of them, because if they did they'd have an awful lot to answer for.

Don't get me wrong, I believe in God, very strongly and passionately. I believe even more strongly that every single organized religion which has ever existed has been totally wrong about God's nature.

But that's just me. By now we all know how wierd I am.

If I don't take it, I hear voices and see things. Yes, I am one of those violent "schizos". I shot a dog once because it was saying hurtfull things about my dead grandmother. Voices tell me that my neighbors are putting secrets about me in the mail, so I should do something about it. Instead, i take meds, no voices, no visions. All I want is for G-D to get off his ass and make me sane. I have been flirting with the idea that G-D wants me to be like this, so I have been thinking about going off my meds. After all, it's how G-D made me isn't it?

In your case, I don't think religion helps. Especially when you're asking yourself such questions already. I'd ditch that stuff and go atheist. Then you at least have only your real mental problems to work with. That seems to be enough already.

(I really mean it: religion may help some [healthy] people but if you have thoughts of guilt and stuff, that surely won't help you if you already have a mental disease. Get rid off as many unnecessary problems as possible, then you can easier manage the rest which you can't get rid off [your disease, if you're truly ill].)

So it is God's fault that you have a mental sickness? Maybe its refering to him as G-D which is your problem, or that you feel God owes u something. Maybe you have done something to warrant this sickness since you seem to have some religious background. Im obese, i guess i should turn to lucifer and whatever dark gods in other theologies because Jesus wont help me lose weight quicker on a tredmill or track. Maybe God is helping you, God has given you doctors to put u on meds so u dont flip out. My father was taken from me at a "young" age very tragically from me, does this mean i should turn to Voudun to try and ressurect him since GOD took him "unfairly from me?" Its similar to a story, flood in alabama or somethin, guy on roof, people drive by and say "comeon, we'll take u." Dude says "No its ok, God will save me, im alright." Water keeps rising and rising and people keep coming and coming trying to save him but he says "Its ok, God will save me." He ends up drowning and dying, he then meets with God and says "WHY DIDNT U SAVE ME?!!?" and i forget the exact wording but God says he sent people to save him and he didnt listen.

hon God didnt create it....i understand where you are coming from but never think God made you get this mental illness. i wish i could say anything to help but honestly i cant. if you believe He gave this to you what i say will not change your mind. however to believe that Lucifer has any endearing qualities is pushing it a bit too much. if you think They are equal, why not blame Lucifer instead?

I don't blame lucifer because he isn't the creator. I'm not necessarily blaming G-D, I just don't think he is all that good. If he were total good, babies wouldn't die, the holocaust wouldn't have happened, mental retardation wouldn't exist, Pol Pot and Stalin would never have been born, and mental illness wouldn't exist. G-D could choose to fix these problems or make sure they never happen, yet he doesn't. Good people die young, and evil scum spit on their graves.
