Is this idea for a Halloween costume too risque?

So I'm trying to think of a good Halloween costume idea for whatever party or bar I hit up this year on Halloween weekend. I've come up with one really easy, kind of clever costume, but I'm worried it might be considered a tad creepy. I was thinking of going as a "flasher." I would essentially be wearing a long overcoat and seemingly nothing else. I would actually have on a tank top and shorts under the overcoat, but they'd be short enough that it wouldn't be obvious that I was wearing anything else. The idea would be that I was one of those guys who walks around naked with just a trench coat on, randomly opening it up to flash women.

What do you guys thing? Will people find this humorous or will they find it creepy? I'm especially worried about the reaction of young females, who seem to look for reasons to find everything creepy. As a single guy, I am hoping to chat up some ladies at this party, not scare them away.

If anyone has any better ideas for a costume, feel free to share.

From my experience in dealing with inappropriate humor... I would definitely steer well clear of anything like this.

You see, there are some that would find this funny... but a lot of people don't actually have senses of humor, and would probably just mace you in the face. If your goal is to chat up girls... than I'd choose something a little less... well... creepy.

The last Halloween party I went to was in 1981, when I was living in Houston. A guy I worked with invited me. Somewhere I had found a full face latex mask of a creepy looking old man with a bald head on top and frizzy white hair around the fringes, still have it I think. I found an old trench coat, put on short pants underneath and filled the pockets with miniature candy bars. I'd walk up to a female and say "Want some candy little girl?" I was Chester the Molester, the ladies all thought it was cute. Things were different then. Would I have worn it to a bar where I didn't know anyone? Nope, but that's just me.

I think it's hilarious. I'd think it was even moar hilarious if you would throw open the coat and have a big smiley face covering your...accessories. I'd wear boxer briefs that are as close to your skin tone as possible, and attach a cardboard cutout to the front of it. Hilarious, srsly.

See, I think that would be awesome, but I'm wondering just how different things are now. I feel like some of the responses I've gotten confirm the view that to some people, pretty much everything moderately inappropriate is going to be considered creepy.

I had a friend do this, only he strapped an enormous stuffed dick that popped out whenever he opened it. He also has skin tone clothes on underneath. It was hilarious.

All in all, it really depends on the type of people who would be seeing you in your costume. If they're not going to be offended by the joke, then go for it.

Rule of Halloween---> girls dress up as slutty as they can, guys dress up as funny as they can. Your costume sounds funny and fun. It won't be creepy unless people find you creepy under normal circumstances too. If you're attractive chics will love it.

If you are known as a prankster then it would be okay. But if you want to impress some girls I would say no.

Depending on how nerdy you are, you could get a The Flash costume, alter it so it doesn't show below the trenchcoat, and wear that underneath. Then you have word play to fall back on if anyone objects.

I know I'm going to get beaten up for it, but I'm going dressed as a minstrel dancer, in complete regailia.

Should be fun... I'm deff wearing my running shoes.

(I think this is the absolute height of humor. I am not racist [although usually having to say this is admission enough] and will not entertain allegations of such)

Unless you were flashing people, I think some might not get what you're going as, thinking you're a detective or Inspector Gadget or some shit. And if you are going to be flashing people, naked or otherwise, expect some eye-rolling at the very least.

I think it's funny actually. A buddy of mine did this years ago at a party and rigged it so that when he opened his coat, a fake penis (made of stuffed pantyhose) popped out.

I've seen costumes be a lot more offensive lol.

^You've never seen a fake rubber penis?^

That takes guts it sounds like a good idea but I wouldn't do it, someone might call the cops on you.

No no OJ, I'm going dressed as this:
