Well at 12:01am the NFL Free Agency period starts.

What do you all think? What are you hoping for your teams? What signing will have the best impact? The worst impact?

Which player staying made the right decision? Who didn't.

So, post your thoughts as they come to you.

Ill have more in a few.

Rob

Well the first move, or stay as it is.....

DeAngelo Hall stays with the Redskins, 6 years $54 million dollars.

To me, again the Redskins are overpaying for a good player..but not a great one. Consistent for their history though.

Albert Haynesworth hit the free agent jackpot Friday morning by reaching agreement on a seven-year, $100 million deal with the Washington Redskins that could end up maxing out at $115 million based on his performance, according to sources.

The deal, which was reached early Friday morning, includes $41 million in guarantees. During the first 13 months of the contract, Haynesworth will earn approximately $32 million.

A news conference is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET at Redskins Park.

Tampering, anyone?

I agree about Hall. Here is a guy who has been a bit of a malcontent everywhere he goes and, though he is talented, he is not an elite player.

The Hanysworth signing is a good move, but the Redskin defense really wasn't the problem last year. There problem was that Jason Campbell fell apart toward the end of the season. They should have done something to boost the offense. I also don't really agree with rewarding a guy so much money for 1 probowl season when the knock on him is that he is lazy and underperforms. But this is what the Redskins do. They overpay for free agents. so I'm not too shocked.

The Haynesworth deal is a horrible one that will bite the Redskins in the ass. He is a DT who only plays 2 plays a series, he wont be in on 3rd downs. Not to mention that he has only played all 16 games 1 time in his career, and he only had 2 good years and they were both contract years. The Redskins always over pay and this one is going to screw them for a long time

Now they can focus on getting Jason Campbell some WR weapons besides Santana Moss, like T.J. Houshmanzada or someone like that.

I don't think the Redskins have enough money left to sign anymore big-name FA's.

Ha ha free agency is less than two days old, and the Redskins have already made their splash. I guess it's kind of encouraging they're going after defense, but I agree with most people so far who said they overpaid for DeAngelo Hall. He's a decent CB most weeks, but I've never seen him actually shut down a big time WR.

Haynesworth might be a better signing, but to me he too has a lot of question marks, especially regarding his attitude. He's coming off back to back years in which he was pretty much playing for a bigger payday, and now that he's locked up in Washington, I feel like it's time for him to start mailing it in.

I didn't see it mentioned yet, but I love the Bart Scott to the Jets signing. I think he'll be a huge help installing the kind of defense Rex Ryan is looking to run. I like the Kerry Collin signing too, I hope it helps with Vince Young's development instead of destroying it.

And breaking news today.... (although it's a trade instead of a free agent deal) Matt Cassell is now a Kansas City Chief. Great move by the Pats, in my opinion. "Thanks for playing well as a backup... let's stash you somewhere we won't have to worry about you for a year or three while you're stuck in rebuilding mode"

OK, enough ranting from me. What do you guys think? Who are the best FA's left? And what teams do you think need to make a move?

Wow, I'm surprised no one mentioned Matt Cassel is now a KC Chief. Cassel and LB Mike Vrabel were traded for the 34th pick in the draft. Seems like a steal to me.

Yup. Highway robbery and grand theft auto.

Butch and Sundance would be proud of the Chiefs.

Pats are investing too much in Brady, IMO.

Guess we'll have to see...

Redskins are fools.

They overpaid Hall and then let Shawn Springs go.

Then they paid too much for Haynesworth. Yes he is the #1 D player in the league right about now, but the contract he's locked into is too long and too much.

Skins have a history of making huge signings that amount to nothing. I think these signings will be no exception.

Also, in case some haven't heard: Broncs signed Brian Dawkins.

Ridiculous signing, IMO.

He's too old and fits better in Philly. And everyone knows how horrible Denver's D is.

Why play for a team that's had like 5 different D Coordinators over the last 5 years when you can play for Joe Johnson and his brilliant blitz schemes?!

The signing reminds me of when John Lynch left the Bucs for the Broncs; and we all know how that ended.

Then there are hot rumors of Jay Cutler being traded... I can't imagine why.

Jason Taylor was cut (how dumb IS Washington?!)

TJ Housh signed with the Hawks.

Loved the signing, great fit for TJ. He gets to escape Cincy, play close to where he went to college and contribute to a team that needs his skills.

Him oppo Deion Branch (if healthy) creates an instant threat. If Nate Burleson can ever meet his potential and/or stay healthy the Hawks WR corps will rival the Cards.

Also, now the Hawks can focus their #4 overall pick on RB (Moreno?), O Line or even QB (Sanchez?). Or they could add Crabtree to the fold and spread the field SO wide and just have Matty H or Seneca drop back and throw ALL DAY.

The plot thickens.

this was all about cap space for the pats. vrabel would have likely been cut and i think this was a way to show respect for him and let him keep his current deal by trading him instead of cutting him. they could have gotten slightly more from tampa or denver but they wanted to send cassell to a team that isn't a threat for the next couple of years.
