Jake....my Border Collie.......snuck out through the open garage door without us knowing........apparantly chaced a deer off the property and out on to a main road. By the time we noticed he was not in the house and went looking for him, we found him dead on the side of the road.
We are totally devistated and will miss him forever. He was one awesome dog.
We buried him in our backyard.
Rest in peace my boy. I loved you Jake. WE loved you.

TTD :cry1: :cry1:

o TTD i'm so sorry. losing a pet is such a heartbreak... i know my stevie died here at home last year at the age of eighteen, our cat. we buried her in the back yard. when you fill better , i would suggest maybe getting another pet. it wont replace the dog you lost but it does help fill up that empty hole that is in your heart.

so sorry again TTD xoxo

Sorry about the loss of your dog. Those border collies are known to be runners and chasers-he only did what came to him naturally. He died doing what he loved.

I'm sorry for your loss. I know what it is like to lose a pet. My kitty Leopold died the day before my birthday last year.

When Lord Byron's beloved Newfoundland died, he had him buried on the family estate with a headstone containing the following inscription:

Here lie the remains of One who, in Life, possessed
Beauty without Vanity,
Strength without Insolence,
Courage without Ferocity,
And all the Virtures of Man
With none of his Vices.

A better tribute to a good dog I have never read. I'm sure it fits yours to a tee.

You have my sympathy also for your loss.
I was never much of a dog person until lately. My brother and sis-in-law have a dog they bring to visit to me, and Ive actually grown quite fond of it. When I get my own place next month, the first thing IM going to get is a dog.

Im sorry again for your loss.

Rob

Oh TTD, Sadira and I are sorry to hear about your dog. We feel really bad buddy. May Jake rest in peace. 🙁

I'm so sorry, both of you. Being one of the biggest animal lovers in the world, I can honestly say I share your tears. Border Collies are such wonderful pups...so smart, so loyal, so full of life and personality. My deepest condolances that he was taken so young. He will live forever in your hearts.

Can't say much other than I've been there. Sorry for your loss.

I amsorry to hear of your tragic loss....... I will be devastated when my dog, Herbie, dies....

TTD, I am Honestly Sorry for your loss...

...A beloved pet has has gone & all that is left is a HUGE HOLE.

Give yourself some time to grieve...this was a Dear Friend and that's a bond that was untared by conditions.
Unconditional LOVE is what we receive form those angels in animal fur. Jake sounds like he had a GREAT LIFE because he had people who gave it right back.
May you always think of him & smile.

So sorry to hear about that TTD, absolutely one of the hardest things to lose a pet. May he rest in peace.

Bummer.... Lite and I are so very sorry about your loss. For better or worse, I, personally, am all cried out from other pet losses on the forum recently, so all I can do is ache deeply.

As I noted in another thread, enjoy the memories. They'll be what you will eventually carry with you, and not the ache you feel right now.

Keep your chins up (as in both you, not that you each have two chins... ;-) ).

Ed, all our best...

We adored Jake, we could see right away, he was a unique companion in all the world. He truly was unforgettable.

We're here for the both of you...

You have my sympothies my friend. Growing up I loved the dogs we had and I remeber that feeling when they were gone! Take care and I wish you the best.

I'm really sorry to hear this. My God, what an awful thing to happen. My heart goes out to you, Ed.

ah, Jake was the most adorable, loveable dog. I adored him...he was my pal when I came over! I will miss him too. Sorry to hear about the news. I have a dog too and I would be heartbroken...

Thinking of you.
Judy

We're so sorry to hear of Jakes passing, Ed. He was great pooch with a lot of personality. All we can guess is that Benji is welcoming Jake into an awesome paradise up in pet heaven. Our thoughts are with you both, call if you want to talk.

Omg!

I am so, so sorry to hear this. All my life I've owned cats. I NEVER would have thought I'd EVER love a dog. Sloppy, spazzy creatures~yuck. Until I got a new tiny puppy last year. I could never have predicted I'd love something I dreaded having so much the way I do now. :dog: Please accept my heartfelt condolensces? :smilelove
XOXO

Ed and Patti:

I am so sorry to hear about Jake's passing. I knew him and he was an awesome dog. He was like my pal when I came over to see you guys. Being a dog owner, I know how devastated I would be if my dog passed. I remember having a dog when I was in my teens and when she died, I cried almost non stop for a week. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Oh border collies... the brains of the dog world. Or at least the concentration. My last dog was a Border Collie and she was sooo special. Those dogs have a certain something no other breed can match.

I'm truly sorry for your loss... after having lost my own, I feel your pain.

Ed & Patti, I'm so sorry about Jake! I was just thinking about him yesterday morning. I took Wiyanna to the vet and there was a fella there who looked just like him...pouncing and all. As Drew said, I'll bet benji welcomed him home to pet heaven. Hell, they're probably sitting there now...Jake with a nice steak and benji with a big catnip plant...talking aobut those whacky human friends of theirs. We'll miss him too. Give a yell if you want to talk. We'll see you Sunday.

Ann

Thank you ALL for your heartfelt sympathies and condolences. Really means alot to me/us.
It will take a very long time for me to get over this. He was my boy. My pal. My best buddy. I cannot stop crying and will miss him forever. There will NEVER be another like him.
I doubt I will ever want another dog or any other pet for that matter. Nothing can or will replace Jake.
I am crushed.

Again, I thank you all.

Sincerely,

TTD

OMG!!!! :cry1: I am sooo sorry this happened. My most sincerest heartfelt sympathies go out to you. You must be in so much pain.
