Just Plain Spooked By It ? ..............

I just read something someone wrote that happened in her house , it made me wonder if any of you have seen or felt a presence . a ghost , an entity .......... Did you feel at ease around it or were you scared by it ......... I can only wonder about these sightings if there some kind of history or story behind them .

nope...and you are talking about my thread right? i have never felt a presence, except once when i had a fever of one hundred and four early in my marriage..i felt my grandfather from my mother's side sitting on the bed..and i was at ease by it...i don't believe in ghosts or spirits or whathave you, since i never saw my dad or my mom after they died..

also last spring i toured a supposedly haunted home, at night, and never felt a thing..and this house is supposed to be number eight of haunted houses in this country...it was a ghost tour in Gettysburg, which was fun, but i never felt anything at all..

Izzy , it was a person from your thread , when I read it , it got me thinking . I have heard other people tell about strange things happening , especially in the houses they live or lived in .

I don't believe in ghosts and spirits in the traditional sense. Rather, I believe that the feelings and emotions of past lives, if they are strong feelings can leave a sort of residue or film within a particular area.

Take for example, a violent argument or perhaps a suicide that occured within a room. The strong emotions and energies that built up from this person or persons' anguish may leave a sort of imprint there, and some may feel a sort of chill or feeling of dread as they enter the room, much as if they had entered a cold pocket. They can't place their finger on why they feel uneasy, but it is my theory that the negative energies from past experiances is making itself manifest within their own psyche.

in 1996 i bought a house in michigan where the previous owner and builder of the house had died in it. nothing violent or scary, he was in his 70's and it was just his time. didnt think much of it at the time because i got a great deal on the house. i never directly saw anything but i heard things, and i wasnt the only one. mostly just the occaisional thump or bump, once in awhile something in the basement would get knocked over like a speaker when no one was home, so it didnt just fall, but the most unusual thing is there were several areas of the house where on occaision, very faintly, you could definitely hear music when there was no radio, TV or other source that could account for it. i have had people over where 3 or 4 people would experience it at the same time. i sold the place to a good friend of mine in 2000, but since 2002 nothing has been seen or heard....it was kind of a creepy place though, at times........

If you mean Aun's post, yes I was reminded of seeing a moving shadow where a shadow could not possibly be at my grandmother's when I was a kid. She told me it was my great grandfather who stopped by to check on things. I've never experienced what Aun and her family have though.

I want to add something that happened to me . It didn't happen anywhere where I've lived , it happened at work . My work happens to be at a cemetery . One afternoon about 4:30 , I was locking up the mausoleum at the south end of the cemetery , there are two large bronze doors in which you can enter , also at the entrance there is an electric eye that rings a door bell when someone comes in . I happened to be in the bottom floor on this particular day when the bells sounded , I called out but there was no reply . I walked up the stairs to within 15 feet of the doors , all of a sudden I was taken over by the strongest smell of flowers , as if like a perfume , for this has never happened to me in this particular mausoleum , the first thing that came to my mind was the presence of a woman , and a confused , uneasy feeling came over me . I walked outside to see if there was anyone or any car , there was nothing . To this day , I have not forgotten that day ........................ PS , Catherine , I was going to PM you just a couple of days ago , funny even the distance we are from each other doesn't keep the connection down ...........Thanks

OMG, what a cool, kickass job~I LOVE dead people! (Not that way, thank you very much) My dream job is to work for the Coroner's office, it's right next door to my place.

Anyhoo, to answer question, yes, my house is haunted. Yes, a man died there, and yes, several people have seen the shadow of a man passing by the window of the guest bathroom. The office is the only room in the house that at night, you can always hear the rain, even if it's not raining out. One of the guest bedrooms at night always has the faint sound of a party going on. You know how The Shining (movie)ended? It sounds a lot like that, but the house isn't nearly old enough...

Paranormal shit is really interesting. Once when I was hanging out with irishGirl at her place, it was just her, me, and the dog, and we were all in the same room. There was this really loud pounding on the downstairs door, but no one was there. The leaves were untouched on the other side of the door and the door was locked.

Wierd.

I believe in spirits/ghosts and possession/reincarnation. I honestly feel that I have been possessed before. Often times over the last few years, I will wake up in the middle of the night, I am awake, and I am staring at the ceiling, but I am paralyzed. I make noises with my mouth, but it is as if something is choking me, and I can't make enough noise, to let someone in the house know I'm in trouble. It;'s happened quite a few times. The last time it happened, it particularly disturbed me, because my heart was RACING, and I could only move my arm a few inches, only to have it seemingly "forced" back down to my side. I remember these encounters vividly.

So, yes, a guest or two has fled the place. Pretty funny stuff I always think.

So, if you're watching TV, you can't see anything. BUT, you can hear the door being opened and then slammed. By the time you get to the door, it's locked again.

Like the man who walks by the window, they just assume it's the meter reader, pool guy, whathaveyou. Here's the funny thing: the only window the man passes is behind a LOCKED gate. So, yes, a guest or two has fled the place. Pretty funny stuff I always think.

I had a weird experience several years ago, in my college dorm room. Something woke me up in the middle of the night, just barely enough for me to be conscious of my surroundings. I was laying on my side in a sort of stupor, wondering what had woke me up, when I realized that for several seconds I had been staring at a girl. She was kneeling on the floor, gazing out my window, close enough for me to reach out and touch. I blinked and sat up, and she vanished. My room was a single, I had no roommate. My door was double-locked from the inside. I know that I just had to be seeing things... But for that one moment she seemed so real that I still have doubts to this day.
