Gaga released the next video to go with the current single Alejandro today.

At over 8 minutes, it is once again, a mini movie, and tells a story. What that tale is, well that will be for the viewer to decide.

What is there however, is fetish imagery that crosses a dozen groups, big and small. Something in there will make almost anyone sit up and take notice. This like telephone pushes the edges of things.

I'm curious to see what elements hit you folks the most, please take a second to watch, and comment.

SO much imagery... I'm thinking the Roman Catholic Church is going to be pissed at her much like Madonna in the 80's/90's. The machine gun brassiere reminds of those cones Madge used to wear. Puppets and political mayhem, with nylons, bondage, and funerals all make for an interesting mix.
 
this is lame. if lady gaga didn't take herself way, way too seriously, she might be able to make some good music. just my opinion.
 
Wow! She totally reminds me of Ace of Base mixed with Madonna. The video itself to me seems like what Marilyn Manson used to do with his videos but not as vivid. It definitely holds the attention though.

It's hard to judge Lady Gaga though because I'm her biggest fan, I'll chase her down until she loves me, Mickey, MickeyNoodle. 😀

I thought it was pretty cool. I was trying to see if I could interpret some kind of story. The best premise I could come up with was some kind of revolution against religious (or other monolithic) tyranny, with all the sexual acts being a form of rebellion, a la Orwell's 1984.

What that has to do with the lyrics of the song, I have no clue.

Also, not sure if it was the quality of the dancers or the choreography or both, but that was some of the coolest backup dancing I've ever seen in a music video.
 
The thing that I think is so unique about Lady Gaga is that all her videos are supposed to be representing a story. However none of the videos ever really go along with the lyrics of the song. I love her music and listen to it daily but her videos are a bit bizarre. But being bizarre is what catches people's attention and keeps their interest in her. People will want to see what she does next, what crazy outfits she'll come up with and so forth. Her dancing seems to get better with each video 🙂 and only she could pull off dancing in that unflattering flesh colored undergarments and make it look smexy! So all I can so is G-O Gaga 😀
 
I think she is confused about her religious beliefs.
 
that dont look like a nice catholic girl does it? looks to me like a girl who is struggling to hold her beliefs in check while struggling with what she believes is right in her mind. To me, lady gaga is like a double edge sword.

I thought the video was pretty cool (I dread what the budget might've been), but...I honestly have no idea if the lyrics fit the imagery and it's hard to separate the two. Maybe I'll have to listen to it on Mute and just watch.

Quite honestly, I got as far as the cross-dressing punk in the fishnets. That was enough for me to render my opinion.
 
For a B-movie, Gaga is okay.

In my opinion, she can't sing well enough for me to care about her.

one thing i have to to admit, when i listened to the song, it reminded me of 80's pop group ace of base and the song "dont turn around".

I agree! And the black and white montage reminded me of a Madonna video...Vogue? Material Girl? I can't remember...
 
I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga's music, but I just read that she did a rather distasteful thing at a major league baseball game last night.

Supposedly, Lady Gaga was sitting in a luxury suite, at the doubleheader between the Mets and Padres, at Citi Field in New York last night, and, during the first game, made an obscene gesture, by giving the crowd the middle finger, at some point during the first game. Supposedly, she did not stay for the second game.

Such behavior really endears these millionaire rock stars to the fans. I'll really be listening to her music now. Right!

There are things I dislike about Lady Gaga, but overall, I have great respect for her. She went to NYU's school of the arts, she was a songwriter for a lot of pop singers when she was only like 19, and the whole image thing? I think it's awesome. Look at Elton John, Madonna, David Bowie, they all had strange personas, but I haven't really heard anyone accusing them of taking themselves "too seriously."

Whether you like her or not, you can't deny her influence on the music business. In just a few years she's released two albums, collaborated with numerous artists like Beyonce and Akon, she's won a shit ton of awards including two grammies, 9 Billboard music awards, and a GLAAD media award. Everyone in music these days seems to be biting her style and creativity. Not to mention all her charity work with the homeless, underprivileged children, AIDS sufferers, and the LGBTQ community.

Ultimately, she's going to be here for quite some time, whether people dislike her "style" or not. And I'm guessing there's going to be a lot of Lady Gaga wannabes too.

Get over it. 🙂
