Lakers are complete joke... getting ass whipped by Ming-less Rockets

Still not giving Cleveland respect gentlemen??

We shall see......we shall see.

No doubt in my mind that King James and his crew are going to bust heads and muscle their way into the Finals. For the upcoming series my prediction is that they will sweep the Magic. The playoffs this year have been really entertaining, I can't wait to see what happens next.

Kis, im with you all the way. cleveland takes the gold!

Maniac and I agree on something!:bugeyed:

Although I take my victories when I can get them, this isn't the P&R forum! If we ever agreed on anything in there, it would be the sign of the apocalypse!:gonao:

not to offend but to get post season respect you have to earn it and give people a reason to take you seriously in the post season, and with the past 30 years of Cleveland sports they havent earned it. Im not saying that Cleveland isnt deserving of more respect than they get just giving my 2 cents

And how have they NOT earned it?

They've earned it already by becoming a real contender in the NBA. They've earned it already by sweeping both playoff teams so far. They will earn some more after they send Orlando home packing. Will they beat the Lakers? I don't know but they will give them some competition like they haven't had in a long time IMO.

And if it was any other team but Cleveland, we wouldn't be having this dialogue; we never get respect. If something bad happens, we get the jokes; if something good happens, it was a fluke and wait until it goes bad. We can't win for losing; if we beat the Lakers in 4 and brought home the trophy, we still wouldn't be respected like other teams in the NBA just because it's Cleveland and nothing good comes outta' Cleveland right?

It's not so much a basketball thing for me as it is a city thing. I wish the Cavs the best and may the best team win. You know, Cleveland didn't just pop up on the grid yesterday. They have made playoff runs several years and this won't be their first finals either.

I don't know how much more they need to do to earn your respect, but I'm not even a fan of the sport and they have earned mine.

to earn respect you have to win titles and no team in cleveland has won a title in over 30 years hence not getting respect and being the butt of many jokes. Not only have they not won a title but most of the time their teams are under 500 and close to the bottom of whatever league they are in.

With the Cavaliers people are reluctant to give them respect. Even if they win the title they wont get the respect they want or deserve. Because people know that in 2010 that Lebron is going to the Knicks and the Cavs will wollow back into mediocreaty

So according to you, we shouldn't even bother huh?

Glad I don't give credence to everything I read.

And if Lebron leaves, he leaves and we start over--so what?? We have him now and that's that matters. And while you're talking, where is your city's team right now?? At home watching just like you right??

As I said before, we will see.............

actually my city doesnt have a basketball team, and im not attacking your city im just trying to explain to you that your probaly not going to get respect because of that. That and the absence of any titles. I think the cavs are the best team i just dont think they will get it done.

And Lebron leaving would be much more devastating than your making it sound, your going to lose him and get nothing in return. But for Clevelands sake maybe they get it done this year, just as long as the Lakers dont win it i dont care

WOW the magic just showed the country how to break the spirit (and clock) of a team in game 1 of the series.. after that i think this series is through

I am still a bit confused. Are you seriously saying the series is over after one game ?

i think this game will go a long way.. the cavs came in very cocky and confident expecting to roll through and sweep the magic.. even at hafltime the cavs had a big lead and lebron was joking with reporters.. but the way the magic came back and won with the cavs giving their best effort i think brought them back to reality..

Six more games to go Trez, provided that the Cavs don't do it in 5.

Don't get so excited so early on okay??

I really don`t care who wins the series , but it was a one point game. I have a hard time thinking the Cavs are just gonna pack it in over a one point loss. At one point Lebron was 4 for 8 on free throws. He goes 6 for 8 and they win the game

thats my point they should have won, thats what makes the loss spirit breaking.. you come in expecting to roll and have no problem and your best player puts up 49 points and you lose by 1.. and honestly i dont care who wins but it would be nice to see two teams (magic and nuggets) instead of 2 players (lebron and kobe)

I don't know who is going to win, but it is very hard for a team off as long as Cleveland was to get back into "game shape" and not lose steam at the end.

Congrats to the Orlando on a great win, but I would not say the series is over. After all, any team with L. James has a chance to win any game.

This is the first game anyone has won against the Cavs since the playoffs started so I guess that negates the other two sweeps huh?

There are six more games left and I don't think that the Magic is going to roll over the Cavs nor do I think they'll make it to the finals. I could be wrong, but......who knows? I'm just not willing to throw the towel in on them and anyone who does at this point is weak and spoiled and needs to grow their spine because this aint for the faint of heart.

We agree on something... that is JUST PLAIN SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Cavs are not done by a longshot, but FINALLY people (media members) can now stop fawning over this "Cleveland is on a mission right now and look unstoppable" crap. I told all of you they played NOBODIES in the first and second rounds. They didn't play anyone that wanted to play defense against Lebron. Now, let's see how the Cavs respond with adversity. Lebron is the man, but what about the rest of the stiffs? Let's see how well the rest of the team responds. They BLEW A 16 POINT LEAD. And people say the Lakers always choke up leads...

As for the Kobe-Lebron debate. Kis, I love ya too, but contrary to popular belief, Kobe Bryant actually DOES PASS the ball. He is a leader. Even during the Shaq/Kobe days, there was a season during the championship years where Kobe led the team in assists during the season. Yet, he was still called a ballhog. People are going to stick with the stereotype, no matter what. It's painfully obvious that Kobe gets his teammates involved, but people will say what they want.

Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player in the NBA today. Lebron will be when Kobe retires.

Now, I just need the Lakers to win 3 more times. Denver is going to be tough and they will push the Lakers to the limit. These guys are no joke. Let's see how the Lakers respond because Denver is for real.

Even a blind squirrel will catch a nut!

Let's just relish in this major accomplishment; it should be followed by a ticker parade and a holiday in it's honor.......:ilikepie:

Prime gonna have to respectfully disagree on a few issues

Who played defense on Lebron tonight? He scored 49, which is a career playoff best.

Kobe will be 31 in a few months. He probably has two or three more years as the elite player that he is now. Lebron is only getting better with each year and is still just a young pup. Lebron is now the present and the future of the league. And that is no slap against Kobe, it happens to all dominant players at some point

He scored 49, but it was a HARD 49. Unlike his previous 8 playoff games, he got whacked around. Did you see Lebron at the end of the game? He had issues leaving the court. When he tries to drive the lane, someone was there to meet him. In the Detroit and Atlanta series, Lebron moonwalked his way to the rim. Now, he's getting hammered. He won't score 49 every game, just like Kobe won't score 40 every game.

All the hype about Lebron is that he has great talent around him now. I always questioned if these "talented" guys can handle pressure. Tonight they wilted under the pressure. Can they respond in Game 2? They better hope so...

they are both phenomenal players.

and for once the league actually got 1st team all NBA right . every guy on the ist team deserved to be there
