Hello everyone!

Before going to the previews please allow me to make a little announcement. The reason it’s taken me so long to release more clips in the Last Laugh Laguz series is that I’ve been busy making some changes to my products and my store. Indeed, I finally have 1280x720 HD clips for sale, and not just the Laguz series. It’s a move that I’ve been putting off for a long time. I had several reasons for wanting to avoid such a format. For a long time I thought I would never do it, and quite frankly I still have reservations about it. But the market is really tough nowadays, and I can’t help but feel I don’t have a choice but to offer a format that customers seem to have become used to and have come to expect from producers.

Now, it’s important to understand that larger doesn’t necessarily mean better. HD doesn’t magically turn clips into professional masterpieces, far from it. In fact, I personally tend to prefer smaller screen sizes for my own videos. I think they look a little better (though that’s debatable). But people really do seem to favor HD nowadays, so what the hell, I’m giving it a try. If it can help my somewhat struggling business to survive a little longer, so be it.

So my store now has 1280x720 HD versions, but only for clips starting with the ‘Last Laugh Isa’ series, which were filmed with an HD camcorder. All the series before that, from ‘Last Laugh Alpha’ to ‘Last Laugh Nauthiz’, were filmed using an older camcorder, so their screen size will remain at 640x480.

I should point out that I didn't just add HD versions, I actually removed the older 960x540 versions altogether. I have a number of reasons for doing this, one of them being to avoid my store being cluttered with different versions of the same footage, which I dislike very much. Of course, HD means larger files and higher bitrates, so I’m hoping customers with older computers won’t have trouble playing them. But my own computer is 5 years old and can play all the clips perfectly well, so hopefully everything will be fine. If it turns out some people really have problems with the HD clips, please let me know.

Anyway, here are previews for Last Laugh Laguz 2 and 3, starring Josee and sisters Adrian and Amie.

Josee: 24, 5’2”, size 6
Amie: 19, 5’8”, size 8
Adrian: 23, 5’5”, size 9

Last Laugh Laguz 2:

"Josee’s position for her first experience as a ticklee is somewhat more awkward that Adrian’s. She’s lying on her back on my weight bench, her ankles cuffed to the bench’s posts, forcing her into a crouched posture where her knees nearly reach her armpits. Her wrists are cuffed to both ends of a long rod that’s secured the posts. Finally, her big toes are tied to further limit the mobility of her feet. She’s not going anywhere. Her soles are aimed towards the ceiling, and each one gets thoroughly worked over by one of the sisters. Josee is a delightful ticklee, with a cute, often quite intense laugh. From her squeals one might think that her odreal gets a little too much for her at times, but she takes it like a champ."

Last Laugh Laguz 3:

"The one is a direct continuation of the previous scene, same position and all, only this time Amie and Adrian use their tongues on Josee’s feet and toes instead of their fingers."

You know, I'd really like to know more about people's buying habits when it comes to HD clips versus lower resolution clips. I mean, I realize that many producers who sell HD clips also offer lower resolution alternatives for customers who own older/less powerful computers. But how popular are these smaller versions, really? Do they sell well? Does it really make that much of a difference for many customers? Frankly, I've no clue.

By the way, by HD I mean 1280x720. I certainly understand that the larger, heavier 1920x1080 format that some producers offer can be problematic for some people, making offering a smaller alternative a good idea. But I don't intend to ever go over 1280x720, which plays perfectly well on my own 5-year-old computer.

The thing is, I can't help but wonder if I made a mistake by upgrading my 960x540 clips to 1280x720 and dropping the old versions altogether. I mean, will this penalize a lot of my customers because they won't be able to play my HD clips properly? Will it hurt my sales? I would really rather not have to clutter my store with two versions of each clip (not to mention all the work it represents), but is it possible that it would actually be a wise move on my part? Is it worth the trouble, or are most computers pretty much just fine with 1280x720 clips nowadays?

Any feedback would be welcome. Thank you.

Hi there,

I have loved your work since the "alpha" series came out in... what... 2005?

I always found that your use of the friendly (non nudity) nibbling, licking and sucking during the tickling was always more appealing to me than the hard-core "make her cry/pee" products from other vendors. But everyone has their own preferences and that's the beauty of having choices.

I personally believe that most computers nowadays support the so called "HD" content. At least, the 1280x720 format. If the clips you make run fine in your 5-year old computer, then that sounds to me like a good indication that it should be fine with the vast majority of users.

There may be the odd customer using VHS tapes and an IBM PC running Windows 98, but I don't think they make the majority of the population who actually buy content from vendors. That's my impression. I mean, if your sales are hurting because everyone is using old computers incapable of playing HD content, then we have another problem. 🙂

One thing I love about high-definition content is that high level of detail and the ability to play it in a larger screen without any compression artifacts. It makes you feel like you are there. So, my vote is always for higher resolution and better definition.

Thanks for all your work during this many years and wish you all the best in the future.

Thank you, that means a lot to me.

It is indeed great that there’s no much variety in the material offered by the various producers, as personal tastes do vary hugely from person to person. Of course, I am glad that some people enjoy or even prefer the tamer approach that I’ve decided to take with my videos.

Actually, Alpha came out in 2002, but it was originally only available on VHS. If I remember correctly I only started releasing clips in 2004, or maybe early 2005.

I guess so. Mind you, I don’t like the idea of some potential customers feeling that I’m letting them down because their computers can’t handle 1280x720 clips, a feeling that I can understand to some extent. But I’m afraid that, as much as I’d like to please everyone, I’m really more comfortable only having one format for each of my clips, and for now it will be 1280x720 HD for the most recent ones. Hopefully this won’t affect too many customers.

Then again, to tell the truth I’m not entirely convinced that offering HD clips is going to help my sales in any noticeable way. It certainly doesn’t seem like it so far, as posting this thread about the change, plus the new Laguz clips that several people have been asking me about ove the last month or two, hasn’t lead so any improvement in my sales. The situation looks pretty much just as bleak as before. To be fair, vey little time has gone by since I started this thread, so things may change in time. But I must admit that I expected the announcement to have more of an impact.

If after a while I realize that the HD clips don’t make any difference after all and that not having them previously had nothing to do with my decreasing sales, who knows, maybe I’ll go back to 960x540. As I mentioned before, I actually prefer my clips in that format. If I’m not going to make more sales with HD I might as well sell clips that I’m the most pleased with. We’ll see.

Well, that really depends what we’re talking out. Let's consider my own videos. It is true that the clips I’ve been shooting with my HD camcorder may look better than my old 640x480 clips, at least in some ways. At the very least there’s certainly more information in the picture. However, it’s not quite the same when you compare different screen sizes for clips that were encoded from the same original footage. I mean, I film at a resolution of 1920x1080, but then I reduce the screen size of the final product. Until recently I shrunk the clips to 960x540, but now it’s 1280x720. Well, I feel that the 960x540 clips look a little better than the 1280x720 ones. Not by much, and it may just be a matter of personal taste, but the smaller clips look a tad sharper to me, and if anything the video artifacts are a bit less noticeable.

Thing is, shooting in HD does not make up for suboptimal shoot conditions. It doesn’t magically make the footage look awesome. I’m sorry to say that even though it’s 1920x1080, the original footage that I produce doesn’t look all that good. The picture is rather soft, poorly contrasted and saturated, and there’s a somewhat grainy quality to it. I blame it on a combination of a camcorder that’s ok but not even close to professional level (comparatively speaking my old camcorder was actually of better quality for its time), lighting conditions in my apartment that are far from ideal, as well as my own limitation when it comes to video-making skills, knowledge and experience.

I can partially compensate for the so-so quality of the original footage not only by making various post-production adjustements (which, again, I’m not very skilled at), but also by reducing the screen size. Generally speaking, the smaller the screen size the less obvious the flaws are. But they’re always there anyway. The simple fact of compressing the footage for commercial use results in video artifacts. I’m assuming it's due in good part to the graininess of the original footage, itself caused by so-so lighting, though I may be wrong. In any case, if you watch my clips from not too far away you can easily notice some video flaws. I think my clips look good enough, all things considered, including the HD versions, but I definitely wouldn’t say that they have a high level of detail or that they can be played in a large screen without any compression artifacts.

I don’t like putting down my own work, but I do prefer to be realistic, objective and honest about it.

Dammit! Look at the size of this post. I'm not even saying much of anything in it. I've always been terrible at being concise when writing.

Let me just say that I have been a huge fan of your work back when I first discovered my tickling fetish in, I'd say, 2002. Your material style was perfect for 12 year old me to further explore my interest. Now, at age 22, I still love your material and have fond memories of years passed. Keep up the great work and I hope for strong years of business ahead. You certainly have my loyalty.

One final thing. Is the girl with the colored hair getting tickled? Just curious 😛

Well I've always been very fond of The Last Laugh, ever since I watched the preview clips for 'Eta' and 'Kappa' many years ago. I think it's fantastic that you're now releasing videos in HD, Francois. Keep up the excellent work!

P.S I'd forgotten that I'd already commented on this thread, but what the heck! Lol

To tell the truth, even though you're 22 now I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the idea of a 12-year-old having watched my clips when they're fetish videos meant for an 18+ audience. But I do appreciate your support.

Yes, there will be a few scenes with her as the ticklee. But you can already see her getting tickled in the Last Laugh Teiwaz series, teamed up with a different model.
