"Should" implies that there is a universal standard, and obviously this is not the case. A lot of people don't care what their play partners look like, and a lot of other people do. Usually, I find this question is being asked by insecure people who want to be reassured that they don't have to be a "model" (whatever that means) to get attention paid to them.

Personally, I have to find the person attractive to want to touch them. Attraction is, however, subjective. I can't pin down what makes a person attractive to me, physically or mentally. I just know it when I see it.

I think a ler would be better suited to answer this question. I'm a lee so I can't really answer from that angle, but in my case I wouldn't have to be necessarily "attracted" to a ler in order to be tickled by them, since a ler could either be a man or a woman I'm solely attracted to men, but I don't think I'd protest a woman tickling me. But usually more than anything else for me it would rely on my comfort level. So looks wouldn't normally play a role for me. I think for some lers attractiveness may be an issue because it can be more or less related to a fantasy or thier arousal factor....I don't know lol. People are people and if you have a strong love of tickling I say focus on that and just enjoy it 🙂.

From a purely tickling standpoint, definitely the laugh (and cute feet) could trump the lack of attraction in this situation.

personally i dont have to be attracted to my lee's.. i get my kicks off of how much they react to me. and it helps if they have a great infectious laugh.
