LEES: Does Laughter Ruin the Tickling?

A thought occurred to me today during a writing project (you can guess what kind). While laboriously trying to nail the arduously proper description for laughing that connotes both agony and ecstasy, I suddenly realized something that I hadn't before.

As established earlier on the forum, (http://www.ticklingforum.com/showthread.php?t=148498) tickling has demonstrable benefits to the psychological well-being for those of us with "the itch" so to speak. But when I thought about another similar thread I did (http://www.ticklingforum.com/showthread.php?t=128058) I realized that tickling has a cost as well: laughter.

Laughter is often awesome from a 'ler's side of things, but being on the receiving end may not be so great. Even though laughter can be voluntary, the strongest laughter is involuntary and uses a lot of smooth muscle contraction, which is longer lasting and almost always painful given the nature of these muscles to exert themselves to the exhaustion of their fuel once they've been activated. And a real good, thorough, and unbearable tickling is a hell of a stimulation.

So while tickling may be the cure for what ails you, the laughing might be the Robitussin flavor that ruins it. Now it's true that ANY SENSATION that's too intense or long-lasting can become painful, but tickling can get the laughter there pretty quick, maybe before the lee has had their fill of tickling. But I'm not sure at this point, which is why I posit this question for the 'lees here.

So 'Lees: Does laughter often get in the way of enjoying the tickling? Does it get painful too fast, forcing you to quit before you've had your tickling fill?

Actually yeah, my throat starts hurting before my sides or I run out of breath or anything like that that makes it nowhere near as enjoyable, so when I get tickled it's usually in this off and on pattern.

Kinda sucks, but what are you gonna do.

Laughter is pretty important to the experience for me, on either side.

It's a good hurt. 🙂

This. And I've discovered, frankly, that if the laughing is actually an issue muscle and breath-wise I need to work on my cardio :runningdog:

What DOES bite the hind teat is a coughing fit, that'll fatigue the body worse than the most intense laughter.

Not really. It might hurt a little bit, but for me, it's kind of a minor annoyance. I don't pay much attention to it because my primary focus is on the feeling of the tickling itself.

I look forward to your next question: "Lees: does being touched (be it by finger, feather, or whatnot) ruin the tickling?" 😀

Ah, then you'll be thrilled to see the question AFTER that: "SharonP: How many more cans of genuine, Kentucky brewed Whupass would you like to go with the six you just got?" 😀

This is a strange, but surprisingly interesting question. Being more of a tickler, I always thought that laughter was a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. . . Sorry, Shawshank moment.

Anyway, while I would never think of laughing hurting, I suppose if its that deep laughter that carries on for so long you can't breathe and your throat gets raw, I suppose it could be bad.

Perhaps people who are experiencing pain are being tickled too intensely for too long? Breaks now and then allow for catching breath, and recovering (and communication, which is important when not playing with someone totally familiar).

I gotta say, I find this to be one of the weirdest tickling questions ever.

Really? I disagree, I think it's a pretty logical question and I've actually been asked about it before (by folks with my other kink). It makes perfect sense to me that a 'lee who wants to have a lot of stamina might be just a little annoyed by having to stop or take breaks, not because being overwhelmed by the tickling itself, but by the pain and lack of air from laughing so hard. Kind of like a runner saying he'd enjoy his miles that much more if it weren't for the stitch in his side he sometimes has to push past.

I love to laugh so I gues what the heck! i have to believe if you are a ler. and you enjoy being tickled then in most casses laughter is part of it. So laughter must be enjoyed. It is expected. It can cause a little pain afterwards, but the stress relieved by tickling over shadows that a bit.
