Lees: Long Nails or Short? Which do you prefer your Ler to have?

Hello Folks,

I need some of you input so please tell me what you think.

Here's some backstory to this question...

As many of you know, I'm a Pro Domme (I get paid to provide private fetish sessions). I am mainly a Dominant, but I enjoy tickling as both Lee AND Ler... (BTW, being a Lee is a submissive role and currently it is the only submissive session that I book).

Herein lies my dilemma, as a Domme, having nice long nails is a plus as well as it is for some tickling techniques. For most of my tickling sessions I'm booked as a Lee. However, when I am the Ler, I really enjoy "digging in" relentlessly! I prefer shorter nails for this so I can go bananas on the pits, ribs and sides, etc.,.

From my experience as a Lee, I do not like finger nails biting into my skin... It takes away from the tickling sensation as now there is an element of pain. Ironically, I do not like receiving pain or humiliation (but I can dish it out as a Domme) 😉

Over a decade ago, I had my all-time worst ever tickling session as a Lee... The client was very nice, but his finger nails were not groomed in the least. In my opinion, it was the length of his nails combined with the proximity of them to the balls of his finger tips that caused a sharp "pinching" sensation. His tickling style was fast and intense and not varied at all. 🙁

So, back to my original question: Do you (as a Lee) prefer your Ler to have long nails or short nails? Why?

I think somewhere in between is best. When a woman's nails are too short, that requires her basically to just use the tips of her fingers to tickle, which means that I don't get to feel a lot of the more torturous tickling sensations that go along with long nails. When a woman has long nails and tickles my skin lightly with them, it often makes me want to jump out of my skin. I lose all control. So I think having nails that are long enough to glide across the skin is important, but also short enough so that you can dig into my bare skin without causing pain. That should maximize your ability to make my body feel the full breadth of tickling sensations.

I was contemplating getting the fake nails, but I may just keep them my natural length which will serve me and my lee's well. 🙂

So I'm leaning slightly away from the longer nails now.

Visually, I'd love for her to have long, well manicured nails... now how they tickle is a different story.

Tickling is most definitely an art & I've seen videos where 'lers with long nails tickle the hell outta their 'lee with soft, teasing tickles.

Personally, I haven't been tickled a lot, but when I have, she had short rounded nails & I was satisfied with how it tickled! If you really wanna dig in & tickle, it be best to keep them shorter... sometimes, as a 'ler, you can't help it, and you run the risk of bruising & bleeding your 'lee.

As a guy, I can't have nails too long cuz I will destroy them during my typical daily activities. Plus, I have a nasty nail-biting habit I'm trying to curb (as an aside, I should definitely tickle more... it's the only sure-fire way I've been able to keep from chewing my nails).

I think it comes down to type of tickling. For teasing tickling, the long nails are great for light scratches that can be devastating to some lees. for more of a probing tickle, more likely to just hurt.

You could do both. Have your own nails short and then buy some longer fake nails. You can get fake nails here http://lovetools.net/. When you click the link look under the heading Cat Claws where there will be another link that lets you see what they look like. That way you can switch back and forth depending on what the lee prefers.

I'd say no to truly long nails - I once came away from a session with claw marks all over me and feeling like talons were bring dragged over me for most of it, though that was as much about the shape as the length. Yet I prefer them to at least to the full tip of the finger, maybe up to a quarter inch beyond. When I wear them that length I can still tickle hard without the nails getting in the way if I wish. In videos, when they're also colored so I can more easily see their length it's that much better.

Agreed with somewhere in between. I think they should be long enough for light tickles to the foot (drives me crazy) and short enough for digging in on the upper body.

My recommendation that has been mentioned previously, would be for you to go with shorter nails so that you can do the digging in technique and if and when you have a lee who prefers the feeling of longer nails you could use claws for that and make sure they aren't to sharp.

Also, a person who typically has long nails for function instead of for look will usually be more aware of how to handle their nails accordingly. As appose to someone who only has long nails for looks or because they thought it might be fun to try out, because they will most likely not be aware of how to use their nails without hurting someone. And of course not everyone likes a back scratch and for those that do they can range anywhere from light n gentle to feeling like their skin's being clawed off.

When I lee the length of the nails depends on the ler and their technique. Personally for me it doesn't matter the length of the nail, but they should be taken care of, the only exception to this is that I personally dislike fake nails I don't like the look or the feel of them. But, I do like claws and scratching.

Depends on the style of tickling for sure. Personally, I prefer short nails as there are many objects that replicate the long nail sensation.

Long nails scratch me which does not tickle. I prefer short nails. Some women have worn rubber gloves to make sure that their nails don't scratch, which I appreciate very much. 😀

long nails! long nails tickle me like crazy, and if you are careful there shouldn't be a problem. i love when my wife get nail extensions.

Answering only for myself, my vote is most definitely for long! They are absolutely perfect for tickling feet. Great when used on the upper body too, but... I like having a (thin) shirt on as it provides a surface over which the nails can easily glide while also providing just enough protection from scratching. A thin shirt succeeds in facilitating the perfect, what I call, "prickly tickly" sensation. I have a theory that tickling with nails is so effective because there's a component of (slight) pain involved. We naturally want to recoil from pain, and add to that being "scratched" somewhere where we're ticklish, and it makes sense, at least to me, why long nails are so effective. And because I prefer the human touch to tools like combs and electric toothbrushes, the fact I'm being touched directly by another person makes long nails my preference over tools any day. Even though, yes, tools are effective too.

I would prefer if the lets nails weren't too long cause then I don't feel the tickling sensations! I just feel scratching and it is numbing after a while!! The only time I like a bit of a nail is when the LER slowly runs his nails up and down my soles!! That's a killer for me!!

I used to have the really long fake nails back in the day (2000-2005). I love the aesthetics of them as a Domme. However, I don't have as many BDSM/Role Play sessions anymore since I started to focus on my tickling proclivities.

Since then, I've been more of a Lee than a Ler in my sessions, so I'm still on the fence about how to wear my nails since I still want to cater to the lees when I do have those sessions. Oh dear... Decisions, decisions...

On a side note, I have to agree with shygirl08, I like the fleshy fingertips over the nails. Jetergirl5, nailed it... For me nails scratch too much and I can get descensitized after a bit... No Bueno!
