I have a couple of thoughts about this.

First, who cares what she says about people liking to be tickled? She's making a generalization, probably without putting a ton of thought into it. She almost certainly doesn't realize, or care, that there's a whole culture that exists around tickling. But even if she does, so what?

Second, and more importantly, can I get ahead of the ball a little bit here and suggest that everyone leave this girl alone? Let's keep our thoughts in our heads, or here on the TMF, and not start commenting on her youtube page.

I see it a lot on youtube, whenever some girl accidentally brushes up against a fetish it's like a feeding frenzy of people trying to either yell at her, change her mind, or get themselves off by getting her talking about their thing.

This girl has nothing to do with us, and we should respectfully leave it that way.

Point taken. The last thing any one from here should do is enter into a debate with her.

However it is a fact of life, that people take their own view on the world (her's as a self confessed nerd science major) and spout them out as an indisputable fact that we should all accept (we see it so many times with this fetish, but it can apply to basically any part of the human experience).

Funnily enough I was thinking earlier today (before finding that clip) of the quote from Alex Comfort's THE JOY OF SEX. In that he wrote: "Some people get excited out of their minds when their feet are tickled, for others it's agony" (which for me is an example of someone who can see a complete spectrum, outside of thier own experience/tastes).

What I'm trying to get across here is that she isn't CNN or the Mayo Clinic making some kind of definitive statement that we need to feel challenged by, or react to.

She's just some dopey young girl on youtube, doing something fun that she probably assumes will be seen almost exclusively by friends of hers. She may or may not even believe what she's saying. She's definitely not claiming to represent all of humanity on this critical issue, and she definitely doesn't know that she's indirectly addressing our personal interests. It's as if she said "Oh my god, Lady Gaga is the worst singer in the world."

It has nothing to do with us at all.

Additionally, in her defense, it's not an outrageously broad generalization to say that people tend not to like being tickled. Most people, subjected to tickling, will try to evade it or ask for it to stop; I frequent this site and still, when I'm tickled, my instincts kick in and I'll do anything to get it to stop. Most of the characters in stories and videos on this site are desperate for the tickling to stop.

There are plenty of individual exceptions, of course -- that's the problem with generalizations -- but she's not wildly off base.

Who really cares what she says? The majority of her video views for that particular video will probably be her most watched one because there are a ton of tickle-philles on youtube. I don't think anybody will remember what she said because she's not much of a youtube star anyways.
