What are some of the things you'd throw together that are quick and easy?

I have always done 1 of these 4 things:

1. Pita bread and hummus
2. Frozen dinner
3. Spaghettios
4. Salad

Get some chicken breast, rub spices of your choice on it (I generally use thyme, rosemary, and paprika). Throw it in the oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

I never cook anyway , so I usually go w/a lot of microwavable stuff.

I've been eating a lot of oatmeal , lately , though , adding bananas , raisins , walnuts , & ground flaxseed meal to the mix.

Macaroni..meatballs...(not to be confused with spaghatti nahdle)

Spaghetti or a microwaveable thingy. And spaghettios are the bomb!

Lately, I've been doing a lot of weekend cooking, so I don't need to bother with anything crazy during the week. I generally have pasta, chicken, and one other thing made, so when I get home, I throw it all in a bowl, nuke it for a few minutes, and then I can zone out with deliciousness.

A bag of minute rice, and a can of chunky beef soup. They get done at the same time...pour the soup over the rice. It's good and fills ya up.

Most of your large supermarkets have hot meals to take out, then warm them up in the microwave.

Sandwiches are quick and customizable.

^All of the above *except the spaghettios...blech* work well and I have done. I also found on my grocers aisle Dinty Moore microwave meals that don't need refridgeration and cook in 1 1/2 minutes. The stew and roast beef dishes are pretty good but the Italian dishes weren't so hot, at least not to me.

Dinty Moore FTW.:boogie: They used to have a chilli and spuds meal.Have not seen that in awhile.

A baguette with cold cuts or cheese. No cooking at all, in other words. 😀

mac n cheese
can of tuna
can of peas

cook, mix, eat...mmmm 🙂

One can of pinto beans, one can of tuna, mix it in with salsa, and I'm good

good fiber, good protean, and it tastes ok

I do a fair amount of extra cooking when I do have time. Then, on occassions like this, it's as simple as pulling something out of the freezer and nuiking it. Among the normal selection of items in our freezers are...

turkey /chicken soup
roast beef/pork/chicken/turkey & gravy
mashed potatoes
a variety of frozen veggies
beef stew
chili
chicken taco bake
chicken divan casserole
meatloaf
meatballs
sauce

Of course, when even that seems too much an effort, there's always Wings Over Bristol or any number of other take-out/delivery options. But, I enjoy cooking and like good food. So, we generally opt for something I've made. (It's also much less expensive!)
