Meh reaction to impressive AI content

My friend and soon-to-be occasional session partner Beth recently walked me through some AI image editing and creation techniques (she was editing images of photos I'd taken at her place during a recent session with her friend to remove background clutter so I could post them in the True Stories forum).

I hadn't paid a ton of attention to AI tickle content up until that point, but working with Beth led me to curiously poke around in the AI Creations forum here.

And I mean damn, there is some amazing stuff out there. I'm admittedly out of touch, but I had no idea capabilities had gotten to the point where almost-believable LOTR and DC characters, for instance, could be shown tickling around with each other so realistically.

At the same time, it occurred to me that despite the massive fantasy potential of this material, while I found it impressive and interesting, there was no zing. I mean, if I saw Liv Tyler getting tickled in the stocks by Cate Blanchett in real life, I might have a heart attack, but the hyper-realistic AI version gave me more of a "Huh, wow" reaction.

It's even more curious since I get at least little zing from seeing Olive Oyl or April O'Neil tickled in cartoons.

I don't know...has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts?

It’s all in the eye of the viewer. Is it any less stimulating than a live video with obviously fake reactions from the model?
I had the same thought, and for me the response is similar. Maybe interesting, but no zing, and I'm unlikely to watch more than once.

In each case, there's nothing compelling about it once the wow factor passes.

Maybe that'll change as AI improves once we get to the (scary) point when 1) it's genuinely hard to distinguish the difference and 2) some talented creator learns to realistically capture complex human reactions.

I've been thinking a lot about AI in the context of kink content. I've been wanting to write something about it for a while now, but nailing down a few things about it just right has been difficult and AI is such a moving target that I just haven't been able to get it done. One thing that I keep coming back to for all creative AI content (writing, images, video, etc) is that I have a deep-rooted uneasy feeling about it in the creative space. For some things, I don't know where the line is for me yet. I think AI has a lot of positive potential for practical problem solving, but I'm never happy to see stories, images, or videos in the kink community that were rendered by AI. I think a lot of people don't like it but are having a hard time putting their finger on why. I think it has been a little easier to justify not liking it when it is imperfect, as you can just call it slop or for the quality stuff, criticize the subtle flaws that make it feel inorganic. Taking it to the extreme, I've asked myself, what if right now AI could perfectly reproduce, bit by bit, content that is equivalent to real content in terms of quality and believability? None of us would know unless it was disclosed as such. Now the most interesting revelation I've had about my personal perspective is that if I came across a piece of AI content that was perfect in that way and enjoyed it, I strongly feel I'd be immediately repulsed if I learned it was AI at a later time. Why? It's hard to explain, but it would feel soulless to me. It would feel similarly to how I'd feel looking out the window of my hotel room on vacation, admiring all the landscaping and natural scenery each morning of my stay, only to be eventually told by staff that it's all actually just made of a new synthetic landscaping material designed to look super realistic. Everytime I'd look out the window after that, the experience would be very different, despite nothing about the actual landscaping having changed. It just feels like elaborate deception that takes advantage of our sensory systems. There's something in the knowing about the human touch involved in content that makes all the world of difference to me.

This was a helpful question to reflect on and I'll likely use some of my answer here as the basis for what I write about it, if and when I do. Thanks for asking it! Also, I wish you the best in establishing yourselves as play partners. Take care 🙂

Wicked, the window analogy is perfect. Same combination of being impressed and slightly creeped out while feeling a little misled (the latter of which wouldn't apply if the window were presented as such, the way AI work is presented in the forum here).

There are accounts on Instagram of beautiful women showing their feet that I honestly can't tell if it's AI or a real person in the photos, or what's really going on with them. I find it to be pretty disturbing, and like I've noticed so many seem to say, it's hard to explain exactly why it bothers me so much, but it does. It definitely has to do with feeling deceived and manipulated, and as someone obsessed with knowing what is real, this is yet another thing to make me feel like I'm losing touch with that on an almost inconceivable level.

Oh yeah obviously I think it is, now people have gotten better about acting but I would rather a model who is a 4/10 ticklish at least giggle themselves through the video vs TRYING to fake the laugh.

Yeah there's videos that I've bought thinking it had potential, didn't go that great and I honestly just kinda forget I have it til I run into again lmao

Likewise, I've bought some BANGER videos that are still very much in my rotation. One of my favorites is the Campus Security video with Celeste and Honey which I've seen... I can't even count the amount of times. Easily over 100, and while Celeste does act a bit, I get why and she actually does a good job and her laugh is one of my absolute favorites. But again, there's soul and life to the video and you can tell they are both having a lot of fun, which I feel should be a factor in if a video is good.
