Here's my best to all my friends here, both old and new...that this year's holidays give you the opportunity to share love and to be loved. More important than presents.
More importantly, share a thought and a prayer for all of the young people in uniform, doing a very dirty job on the other side of the world. Remember that when whoever it was who composed "I'll Be Home For Christmas", did it for those in their circumstances. Some won't come back. Some will come back, missing body parts, and having to undergo physical therapy for the rest of their lives. Some will come back needing professional help, because the experience will leave untold damage of a depth that their families and friends will find hard to reconcile. My late grandfather fell into this category.
