This was the 1st game after the postponement of the game yesterday due to Jose Fernandez's death.

After a very somber pregame ceremony, the Marlins Dee Gordon led off the bottom of the first.

Gordon, a left-handed batter, stepped up to the right-hand side of the plate emulating the late Jose Fernandez. After taking a ball from Mets pitcher Jose Colon, he switches to the left side. After taking another ball making the count 2-0, he promptly hits a home run into the right field seats, his FIRST home run of the season.

I don't know about you, but I think there must have been someone or something helping that ball out of the park. All the while Gordon is rounding the bases with tears streaming down his cheeks. When he got round to home plate, Travis Darnaud, the Mets catcher, in his post game interview, said he had tears in his eyes at that moment. By the way, Miami won the game. Beautiful.
