I'm not a fan of any of these people, but if they died tomorrow, I'd either post a tribute or keep my mouth shut!

That is how I view it kis. Sometimes silence says more than any words ever could. The ultimate insult is not what you say, but not acknowledging them at all.

At least in my opinion.

And should you ever have a loved one suffer sick and die slowly like Farrah Fawcett (and my own mother) did, you'd be ready to break down Kevorkian's door to give them early relief--trust me!

Okay, so we're different kinds of people. I accept that. You'll say nice things about criminals on the day they die. I won't. I don't think there's a need to imply that either one of us is morally superior to the other.

Obviously, you were given tons of examples why we chose to celebrate his life than to trash his memory. They were all wasted on you!

You said it. He was a part o my childhood as well, and that was the first thought I had when I heard about this. It only made things worse that Farah died today as well. The 80's and my childhood really took it on the chin today.
 
i dont like michael either and disagree with things he did but people are right you can trash him everyday but trashing him in a death thread is a little low brow

3 children - have lost their father. 2 parents - have lost their son. Siblings - have lost their brother. (my prayers are with them at this time of grief) His music & talent will live on & be remembered as "The King of Pop" (Gone Too Soon). :cry1: :dropatear
 
Well, I have to admit that of all the famous deaths in the world, I find this news very touching, having read a lot of Michael Jackson's unhappy childhood and strife to change his physical attributes, despite all the unsurpassed success.

He is just a great person. To think we live during his contemporary years...!
 
I just hope his funeral does not become a circus show.. but then again he would love that.. always wanted the negative attention.
 
I got to say that when I heard that Michael Jackson passed away I was clearly very surprised and very shocked, I could not believe it-first from CNN said a cardiac arrest and then a coma than not even it seemed next I seen a moment later-he died. It was very surprising-at first I could not believe it. I must say when I was younger-I really did enjoy and really did love his music-even now I still dig and still love his music-however soon after he started bleaching his face and started making some very bad terrible decisions-(whether it was true or not) about what he had been doing w young boys-remains yet to be known or seen (I don't know) Please know I am not meaning to sling dirt because I am not- yes I loved and still love his music-just did not agree with terrible decisions he made in his life that is all.

I am glad you mentioned the humanitarian outreaches he did because I must admit I forgot about that. Those kind acts of kindness and love he did before he seemed to lose his way-those were very touching and very beautiful acts of love and compassion-I will remember him fondly for that. I loved his music and creativity-digged his music videos-however mean no disrespect-just saddens me he was not able to get psychological help and the love and the care he needed-looking back-does seem like he was crying out and hoping someone would help and reach out and help him. (If his family indeed are ones that did not help him receive help from the terrible physical/emot/mental/sexual/abuse that happened with his father doing what he did to him when he was young-then if that is true-if he did not receive love and help and emot support from family-then shame on them.

Not saying it was not his responsibility to seek help but believe he had been crying out for help-just not sure how to ask for it. A fan of the music just not a fan of the bad choices he made when seemed he lost his way for a while.
Yet my hope is that before he died-hope he got right with God and repented and sincerely made amends to those boys if he indeed had wronged them-if that happened to be the case-to those boys' families and those he hurt-if it was true and not false what happened. Sadly we will never know. However I believe in showing respect for those that have died-that is truly btw God and him. I only can hope he at last received the love and help he needed to turn over a new leaf and turn away from his bad choices.

So while I don't agree with the bad choices he made-I do feel sad and I do think it is tragic for the pain and misery he went through in his life when he was young-sad that he lost his way for a while. Only can hope he asked for forgiveness and turned from his bad choices stopped in time. Only God knows that. So while I don't agree with what you did/bad choices for a long time that you made-btw you and God. For the good and kind loving acts you did Michael Jackson. RIP Michael. Hope you found love and acceptance and healing-hope you changed back for the good-hope to see you in Heaven. May he rest in peace. Greatest condolences to his family-friends and only can hope those hurt-find love and great healing-please God be with them -if indeed it happened-bring peace and understanding-help them to forgive-not hold them back and move on-love others-not to act out. Amen

Also hope his funeral doesn't become a circus show. I know what you are saying dimpletoes, he did make bad choices. However before the bad he did do a lot of kind and loving acts of compassion and outreach-yeah for a long time maybe he did want the negative attention (seemed lost in the world) because I believe sadly that he felt and thought he was finally receiving acceptance and love that he not received from his father and in his life. Sadly he did not realize that with his bad choices-the attention he was getting was negative and bad-not good attention. I believe sadly that for some time he was lost and love starved not sure how to receive love. Not a good thing-not saying I agree with the bad choices he made however sadly he did only what he learned and knew to do. A very sad and tragic thing. However I believe towards the end-he was sorry and sincerely regretful for the pain and hurt he caused, not for us to say-btw him and God. Only God knows what was in his heart-if good showed up towards the end.

I care just as much about John/Jane Doe as MJ or any other celebrity. All are someone's son, daughter, parent, spouse, SO, friend to somebody. The only difference is that they're not in the public eye but all of them die someday right??

Here's to all, not just the celebrities who have passed away within the last week...........:toast:
