Michael Vick thinks he's worth what?!

I think he can only keep the first $700,000 of any contract he signs because of the bankruptcy agreement. I think a lot of teams are going to use that against him in negotiations and purposefully low ball him in contract talks. For one thing I think he over estimates his value. Not many teams are looking for a guy who hasn't taken a snap in 2 years and has the reputation of being abusive to animals. It also ignores the fact that I think Goodell is going to have to make him serve some kind of suspension for lying to the commissioners office about this whole matter when it first became public knowledge. I could see him getting an 8 game to full season suspension. I am just unsure of what team would want the headache he brings. I think some team will sign him, but it won't be for $10 million.

I think Dallas would give him a look. Michael Vick will bring a lot of attention to whatever team decides to sign him and America's Team just happens to have an owner who loves publicity. It definently wouldn't be for $10 mil/yr.

Someone will sign Vick. I'm guessing that a handful of teams will be willing to sign him when he eligible to play again.

Unlike other risky players, I don't think Vick will get in trouble again. He wasn't a problem in Atlanta and it was just that one incident that brought him down. Teams won't need to worry about him getting in trouble again. The biggest concerns would be bad publicity and if he can still play.

Vick is valuable unless prison time has slowed him down

He can run amazing and if he finds the proper coach he can throw too

Vick is not a bargain but he's not the top

I think Dallas could possibly look considering Jones has made it evident that he wants to run the wildcat and Vick would fit into that. I don't think he would start over Romo though because Dallas has invested too much in Romo.

I do disagree about it just being this one incident.

In early 2004, two men were arrested in Virginia for distributing marijuana in a truck registered to Vick

In March 2005, Sonya Elliott filed a civil lawsuit against Vick alleging she contracted genital herpes from him in 2002, and that he knowingly failed to inform her that he was infected.

November 2006, Vick flipped off fans and was fined $10,000 by the NFL

Then there is the Dog fighting, the failed drug test once he was taken into custody, the instance with the water bottle and the hidden compartment and other questionable activities.

I think that there is a little bit of a pattern of thinking he is above the rules and maybe his dog fighting arrest changed that. I think there are deffinately going to be teams looking for his services, but I just don't see him getting a huge payday out of this and I think teams will use that knowledge of him only keeping the first $700,000 of a contract against him.

UNREAL

Any team that would sign that sorry piece of trash should be booed off the field. I cannot believe anyone would be even thinking about it.

Boo a team that could make the superbowl?

and do you know the actions of every pro athlete? There are prob hundreds of pro athletes who do things as bad\worse than Vick and not caught.

This has kind of been my sentament all along with the Vick thing. Is fight dogs wrong, yeah I would say that putting animals against one another and gambling on it is wrong and it is also against the law. But I don't think you can ignore someone like Ray Lewis who withheld evidence in a murder trial. Or Maybe Jamal Lewis who got caught selling a large quantity of drugs. Or even Ricky Manning Jr. who beat up a Jewish guy in a resturant because he thought he was Arabic. I'm not even touching on all the spouse abuse cases the NFL has dealt with. My point is simply that the NFL isn't just a league filled with boyscouts. Vick went to jail for his crimes and I think he paid dearly for them. His actions have bankrupted him and he owes a lot of money to a lot of different creditors. I can't judge the guy's remorse, or perhaps even lack there of. I know that he was judged and sentenced for his crime and he paid the debt he owed. For me that is good enough. I think he has a right to try to earn a living and rebuild his image. I think the crime he committed was awful, but I'm willing to forgive a person if they pay their debt to society and show some humility along with sympathy for what they have done.
