Kiss From a Rose - Seal

Lyrics

There used to be a greying tower alone on the sea.
You became the light on the dark side of me.
Love remained a drug that's the high and not the pill.

But did you know,
That when it snows,
My eyes become large and,
The light that you shine can be seen.

Baby,
I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey.
...kiss from a rose on the grey.
Ooh, The more I get of you,
Stranger it feels, yeah.
And now that your rose is is in bloom.
A light hits the gloom on the grey.

There is so much a man can tell you,
So much he can say.
You remain,
My power, my pleasure, my pain, baby
To me you're like a growing addiction that I can't deny.. yeah.
Won't you tell me is that healthy, baby?

But did you know,
That when it snows,
My eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen.

I've loved that song Bo, and actually reshared it with someone this week. Thanks. I also love soundtracks, and have to go through them and see what I can find.

Oh, my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love
God speed your love to me

Lonely rivers flow
To the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea
Lonely rivers sigh
"Wait for me, wait for me"
I'll be coming home; wait for me

Oh, my love, my darling
I've hungered, hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love
God speed your love to me

Well, there are no words to these but the soundtracks to Amadeus, 300 and all the Bourne's are awesome.

There is something about soundtracks That can make you feel the same way every time you hear them. One that always comes to mind unbidden is the theme from The Magnificent Seven. From the first note played I always get that little kid excitement again.

From Magnolia, which is at or near the top of my list of the best movies ever made:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DsqCl2vO9xA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DsqCl2vO9xA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Lyrics (the song is Wise Up by Aimee Mann):
It's not
What you thought
When you first began it
You got
What you want
And you can hardly stand it though,
But now you know
It's not going to stop
It's not going to stop
It's not going to stop
'Til you wise up

You're sure
There's a cure
And you have finally found it
You think
One drink
Will shrink you 'til you're underground
And living down
But it's not going to stop
It's not going to stop
It's not going to stop
'Til you wise up

Prepare a list of what you need
Before you sign away the deed
'Cause it's not going to stop
It's not going to stop
It's not going to stop
'Til you wise up
No, it's not going to stop
'Til you wise up
No, it's not going to stop
So just...give up

Kered, now I wanna cigarette.

Jeff - good taste in movies!! According to PTA, the movie was inspired by the music.

The first and last rock and roll movie soundtrack that matters.

The Phantom of the Opera

Forsaken (Queen of the Damned)

Meggie's Theme (from Thorn Birds) - damn 4 DVDs long!

Oh I absolutely adore soundtracks here are some of my favorites:

-Chocolate
-The Royal Tenenbaums
-Juno
-Garden State
-LOTR 1, 2, and 3

There are plenty more where that came from.

One of my favorite soundtracks is Spiderman. Gotta love Danny Elfman!

LOTR is also great!!!!!!! Good one, Music!

omg, Sam. Yes!!

I thought I was the only one here who's seen Heavy Metal. 😀

Eternity and a Day - Paul Haslinger.

From the movie: Underworld.

It gave me chills. And it's so heart wrenchingly beautiful.

Personally, I have two soundtracks that I love. And they were both for movies that really sucked ass.

<a href="http://s284.photobucket.com/albums/ll6/eswk78/?action=view&current=61I4yMx2B1rL__SS500_.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll6/eswk78/61I4yMx2B1rL__SS500_.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s284.photobucket.com/albums/ll6/eswk78/?action=view&current=51VvKMJaAkL__SS500_.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll6/eswk78/51VvKMJaAkL__SS500_.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The first was metal and rap combined.

The second was just a lot of great metal music.

Soundtracks aren't what they used to be, they often are just dumping grounds for songs by the studios music label artists that have little if any connection to the film.

My fave that I can think of offhand is 24 Hour Party People. Heavy Metal & Trainspotting are great too.

BTW I'll be the wet blanket who absolutely despised Magnolia. Exhibit A in why directors are rarely give final cut. That said, had PTA gone for a "smaller" film and focused solely on the Cruise-Hoffman-Robards storyline, IMO there was a 80-90 minute masterpiece there.

Judgement Night is an amazing soundtrack, that was my favorite album for a long time. All awesome rock bands, teamed up with all awesome rap groups.
