Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in the streets of Vienna one day, was accosted by a beggar, who asked him for what they would have called "alms for the poor" in those days. Mozart took out a sheet of paper, drew a musical staff and began filling in notes - composing ON THE SPOT a minuet. He gave it to the beggar and instructed him to take it to a music publisher. The man did - and the publisher immediately bought the piece from the man.

So, remember to do THAT the next time a homeless guy asks you for change.

Nice idea...

....but unfortunately todays popular musicians dont have this basic skill anymore, I doubt Britney can write her own name.

I think that pic suits Joby to a tee. (I know you didn't ask me, Ray, but you know how I love to post!) 😀

Back to Mozart: I'm not a classical aficionado, but Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, the 40th symphony, the Clarinet Quintet concerto, and this one piece (don't know the name, sorry) in which the piano is played really fast, those are my favorite Mozart pieces.

Ah!!! a splendid sight!!!.......

........the mercurial mark 1X, curiously deviod of squadron identification I notice but a magnificent sight non the less.

Heres a curious "Spitfire fact" for you, if any present day spitfire pilot should "come a cropper" and "bend the old kite" and find himself in need of a new "spinner" (propeller) there is only one company that can make them, and its called Doubty Rotol, and they are a?........yes you guessed it, a German company!!! poor old Reginald Mitchell must be turning in his grave!

No weirder than the likes of Krupp and I.G. Farben pretending they didn't make money off all that slave labor...

Beethoven's Ninth is a great choice, Ray. I'm also a big Tchaikovsky fan - the very beginning of the first movement of "Swan Lake" never fails to give me chills.

The Spitfire is an excellent choice in fighter aircraft, also. My understanding is that it was not as fast as the Me-109, but more maneuverable and carried more weaponry. Maybe you could either confirm or correct me on this, red.

Gotta say that sotry about the composer of The Magic Flute doesn't surprise me! I love that piece! (Flautist here so go figure!)

be nice to Miss Spears...she can dance, she looks good almost naked, and she can belt out a tune with the help of some electronics. Doesn't that a musician make?? 🙄

Joby
BTW, Ven...that one looks fine! Hmmm...methinks Red might like being bound up in the cockpit of a Spit and tickled! heheeh
