As a perverse appreciator of all arbitrary numerical milestones, I announce that this is my 1000th Post, and will treat it as though it means something. :triangle:

I hope that my contributions here have been worthwhile, entertaining, and thought provoking. I have had an interesting time being here and learning from and about all of you. Most of you are truly wonderful people, and while there are too many of you to name, I've taken great pleasure in talking to and/or meeting you. I've made some truly excellent friends.

I'm not leaving, but will be posting somewhat less here in the future, I suspect. However, you'll be able to find me if you PM me, and you are always welcome to do so.

I invite you all to keep an eye on "The 10 Cap'mad-ments" segment shown in my sig, as they will be periodically renewed with links to new food, music, books, movies, activities, people, ideas and other cultural artifacts that are intriguing to me.

Here's hoping you will find them the same.

Cap i have always found your posts to be thoughful,well reasoned and enjoyable to read.I'm sorry to hear you won't be around much for awhile at least but you must do what is best for you.Visit when you can my friend,i wish you all the best. 😀

we need more of Cap, not less....

Hey Cap,

We don't always agree on topics, but I have found you to be one the most articulate, balanced and level headed advocates of your positions on this forum. If anyone can convince me to truly examine the other side of a topic, it is you, because you display no agenda in your outlook, you just point out things the way you see them.

For selfish reasons I hope you stick around and contribute, because I really learn from folks like you, and have never found you to take offense at a challenge to your opinion, and you give thought provoking defenses to your conclusions. It is through members like you that I see how others rationally have differing perspectives on topics, and more often than not, in the end we are really not all that divergent in our beliefs, or at the very least we find common ground even in our differing opinions.

Congratulations again, Cap, and frankly, we need more posts and contributions from members like you, not less..... 🙂
