My Dad has Shingles

My Dad went to the doctor today because he has been having theses semi big red spots on his sides and around his stomach. And so my mom made an appointment for him to go see the doctor today and he found out that is what he had the doctor knew right away what they were. So now he has to start taking Antibiotics (5 pills a day). And that is what my former boss that i was working for a few months thier died from. My late boss that died from them was like 80 something years old. And he had them covered all over his body so he left them go to that so when finally was rushed to the hosptial he died a few days after being taking care of for them. He was a older gentleman so that played a factor in his death as well though. But this shingles sound like they can be a pain in the butt and hurt really bad if they are not watched over and taken care of right away with pills (like my Dad is starting to take now). So please pray for my Dad if you guys could that he makes a healthy and speedy recovery from this Shingles virus. It's the first time my dad has had them also.

I don't mean to be too personal, but could you PM me your father's name? You don't have to give me his full name if you don't want to, but I prefer to know who I'm praying for when I can. It makes me feel more centered in what I'm doing and more connections are established this way.

If you don't want to give this information, thats fine. God knows who he is and will know who I'm talking about.

Vampirecult your father has my full sympathy, I have had relatives who have had this (all of whom are still alive) on various parts of their body and it really is debilitating and can be terribly painful as well as contagious.
One piece of advice I can give you is that if it travels to his face consider getting one of those gel eye masks (like what you wear if you have bad headaches etc) you can put in your fridge/freezer cos his face will feel like it is on fire and itch like hell and these really do help matters. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I remember when my dad had shingles. He took a lot of baths with oatmeal in it because it is supposed to be soothing. VERY painful stuff though...

I too will offer my prayers to Jesus VC although im most likely going to see this guy when my heart stops! 2 things are certain, your dad WILL get better and he raised a fine son! Take care my friend!

Sorry to hear it Vamp. My boss had them earlier this year. I know for some people they can be pure hell but Theresa got lucky~it was more uncomfortable than anything and inconvenient too~I hope it will be the same for your Dad!
