NBA finals Dallas has to win game 2

If Lebron wins a title, it is not because of him. It is because of Dwyane Wade. If Wade does not play for the Heat, Lebron gets no ring. Wade didn't leave Miami to go win with Lebron, Lebron left Cleveland to go play with Wade. Get the facts straight. Wade and Bosh could have left their respective teams to go play with Lebron in his backyard, but that didn't happen did it? Lebron will always be second fiddle. He looks good now because Wade is saving his ass.

Would the Heat be in this position without LeBron? Imagine a Heat team that had Wade and Bosh leading it. That team would've fell to the Bulls. What were the Heat doing before LeBron and Bosh came when Dwayne Wade led them?

Chris Bosh would've gone to Cleveland if it weren't for the simple fact that he didn't want to play in Cleveland. LeBron is an amazing player but even he can't overcome all that Ohio doesn't have to offer. If LeBron had NYC on his side when he tried to get recruit other players then we'd be talking a much different story.

How is Wade saving the King's ass by allowing him to play spectacular defense? Was it not LeBron who took care of the league MVP single-handedly? Would that not be an assignment given to MJ or Kobe?

Two games and counting before the King is crowned!

I know it is eating you up that King James will end up with more championships than Kobe and Jordan.

Are you serious? Lebron has you fooled. Lebron never has and never will be a leader. To answer your question as to what the Heat was doing before Lebron and Bosh showed up, it is amazing how short memories are. Last time I checked, Wade HAS A RING. In fact, it was WADE that led the Heat to that title. Not Shaq. Not Mourning. Not Gary Payton. WADE. Answer this. What was Lebron doing when he made the Finals in 2007? He got swept.

As for Lebron's defense against Derrick Rose. Did you even watch the games? Lebron ONLY showed up on Rose in the 4th quarter. Not the entire game. Lebron faced a worn out Rose by the 4th quarter. If Lebron had any real nuts, he would guard Rose the whole game, like KOBE would. Like Jordan would. Like Magic would. Like any LEADER would.

You take Wade off the Heat and Lebron is not in the position he is in now. Wade is the alpha dog on that team. Lebron is a role player. As much as people dislike Kobe, no one could ever say he ran like a little bitch to another man's team.

Lebron will not have more rings than either Kobe's 5 titles, or Jordan's 6. Keep in mind, Kobe isn't done yet...

I can't shake the feeling that the NBA is rigged.

Do you really think Lebron choked against Boston last year? I think he threw the series on purpose. The three of them had the move to Miami planned out in advanced, and Lebron knew he was going to make the move. If he gave his full effort and (god forbid) won a championship with Cleveland, how would he have explained his desire to leave?

Have you ever considered...much like I have LeBron is overrated and Wade is the Superior talent?

Damn, they win game 2 only to let game 3 slip away! I have a good feeling about this Mavs team though. I keep waiting for the inevitable choke by Lebron. He is going to be their downfall. Mavs still have 2 more home games. Game 4, another must win.

LeBron the closer? Please...its all D-Wade...the SUPERIOR talent...

I am a Miami Heat fan and don't get me wrong, I am glad we have LeBron James, but he is CLEARLY overrated. The First time James won MVP it should of been Wade's, he outplayed LeBron that entire season. Wade won a title with a inferior supporting cast (Shaq, Walker, Posey, Jason Williams, an aged Gary Payton, Alonzo Mourning, UD vs. Shaq, Antwan Jamison, Big Z, Mo Williams, Joe Smith, Wally Scizerback (sp), he even had Ben Wallace) . James got swept out of the Finals. "But Wade had Shaq." Well so did LeBron, and Shaq barley did anything in the finals against Dallas anyway. The only reason right now, why the Heat are up 2-1 against Dallas is because of Wade...We would of been up 3-0 if we would of put Undonis on Dirk. LeBron has barley done anything this series, he had a good game 1 and very quite games 2 and 3. Don't be fooled by this King James hype, he is a good player...but Best in the Game? He is Top 5...but IMO Wade is the best in the game. Primetime is gonna disagree with me here and say Kobe...but he is entitled to his opinions. I am glad he realizes the truth.

That response was to this:

I can't shake the feeling that the NBA is rigged.

That's his opinion to have isn't it? Is calling him an idiot going to change his mind about how he feels? I daresay "no".....so why even go there? Have a debate without resorting to calling names is all I'm saying.

Do you really think Lebron choked against Boston last year?

Yes I do and I'm not alone in that assumption.

Did you see the game? Did you see him choke? Did you see the coach and the team just fall apart? He had no incentive to put his best efforts forward when he already mentally moved his talents to South Beach. The fact that you don't see it goes to the adage "can't see the forest for the trees." Can't see the truth for Lebron; you're such a fan that you can't conceive he'd do such a thing. But you're free to provide another explanation for the chain of events that led to a departure that the team's owner even had to find out on ESPN.

I think he threw the series on purpose.

So do I along with thousands who watched that game and viewed the clips afterwards.....

The three of them had the move to Miami planned out in advanced, and Lebron knew he was going to make the move.

Right on both counts. A true leader wouldn't bail out and jump ship in the way he did. A true leader would've taken over the game if he had to; both Jordan and Kobe have done it on several occasions because they wanted to win. I've never seen either of them or Magic, Byrd, or any other do what Lebron did in that game.......there's just no other excuse.

Both Jordan and Kobe screamed over the rooftops about being traded when they felt they were ready to go. No secrets, no meetings behind the back of coaches, GM's, and owners. LeBron simply punked out and all of this really started back at the 2008 Olympics, not last year. The rumor mill was swirling even back then but Dan Gilbert conceded to every wish and whim Lebron could muster to keep him in Cleveland. That was the problem....too many people kissed his butt and gave him what he wanted. Typical to the spoiled child syndrome, he got bored and found something else to pursue. That's Gilbert's fault; if that was Phil Jackson it never would've happened.

If he gave his full effort and (god forbid) won a championship with Cleveland, how would he have explained his desire to leave?

He didn't have to because he DIDN'T give his full effort now did he? Rewind the tape and pop in the DVD and compare to previous years.......he no longer cared about the outcome because he already mentally left.

This is Wade's team and Lebron is along for the ride. Your blind devotion to someone so arrogant like Lebron is clouding your judgement. The 'king' is a douche bag. When he quits on the rest of the Heat, he can play the blame game, which he's way better at than being a leader or clutch player. Even Wade doesn't trust him. Wade is the one who took over in game 3, not the king of Akron.

The thing that will ALWAYS tarnish Lebron is the fact he could not lead a team himself to a title. Think about it. When is the last time you've seen the two-time MVP have the team with the BEST RECORD OVERALL going into the playoffs, bail on that same organization in the name of "I want to win a ring?". It makes no sense whatsoever. That's just Like Michael Jordan leaving Chicago before 1991. Notice guys like Karl Malone, John Stockton, Reggie Miller, and Patrick Ewing DID NOT leave their teams in their prime to go "chase a ring".

He looks good now because Wade is saving his ass. Lebron is and never will be a leader. Dynamic player, but definitely not in the same league as a Jordan, Magic, Bird, Kobe, Duncan, etc....

Lebron getting a ring at this point is the same as Udonis Haslem or Chris Bosh getting theirs. They are ROLE PLAYERS.

No one is bowing down to Lebron. No one.

By the way, why does Dirk Nowitzki decide NOW to miss shots? He couldn't miss against the Lakers or OKC....

I don't know any other player who would go on national TV to announce where he was going to play either. He needs to get over himself.

Plus, you're right about Dirk. Poor time to come up short. If they lose to Miami again, I'm not sure they ever get back to the finals with Nowitzki. Then he will hear all over again how 'soft' the Mavs are.

That being said, I'm ready for game 4 tonight. Tie series.

"But Wade had Shaq." Well so did LeBron, and Shaq barley did anything in the finals against Dallas anyway.

You know there is no comparison between Shaq when he played in Miami and when he played in Cleveland.

You have to go back 6-yrs to find the Heat having success is my point. They've done nothing since that time. LeBron had Cleveland in a much better position most recently.

If LeBron only showed up on Rose in the 4th quarter as you claim, it's not a bad time to show up. And LeBron faced a worn out Rose, as if the King didn't play as many minutes as anyone in basketball.

Wade is the alpha dog but his return to the finals coincided with the Kings arrival for some reason.

You know there is no comparison between Shaq when he played in Miami and when he played in Cleveland.

Yes I agree with you on that. The Shaq that was with Boston this year was stealing money practically. He said as much in his retirement press conference.

Bottom line is Wade has a ring, Lebron doesn't at this point. Lebron has also choked up in the playoffs before he got to Miami. Man, get a clue. Lebron is not leading this team. If you want to be excited about a ROLE player, then be my guest.

Lebron was fresh for the 4th quarter because he was guarding WHO on Chicago for 3 quarters? Rose is the ONLY real offensive threat on the Bulls. Lebron didn't have to work at all on the defensive end.

Good win by the Mavericks. Even though he missed the free throw and flubbed the last inbounds pass, it is VERY OBVIOUS Wade is the Finals MVP so far. His play on all sides of the ball is amazing. Hate to break this to you Fiend, if the Heat win the series, Wade gets his 2nd Finals MVP.

Oh man has my Mavs battled . A sick Dirk has ten points in the 4th quarter . I am just so proud of them for going toe-to-toe with the best team money can buy . Its going to be a tough road but its now a 3 game series

It is a 3 game series, and I actually hope you get a chance to celebrate. lol

But why? Why do the Mavs all of the sudden miss shots against the Heat, but against the Lakers and Thunder, they were hitting everything? It's not like they're not getting open looks...

You know there is no comparison between Shaq when he played in Miami and when he played in Cleveland.

The Shaq in Cleveland stilled averaged double digits and barley contributed in the finals.....plus he sat out for like half the season and playoffs anyway.

Hey great game Lebron! He should have hit the showers at halftime for that pathetic effort. On the other hand, Dirk fought through an illness and played pretty good, his teammates showed up last night to carry him. This is a great series. Go Mavs!

Lets get something straight. I love LeBron as a player but I like Wade just as well. I rooted for him to win in 2006 and I believe he is just as dynamic a player as LeBron.

And you're right - he would definently deserve the MVP trophy if he continues to play like he has. There's no problem here with Wade, I just want the Heat - particularly the King - to win it all.

LeBron disappointed big time last night and needs to be more aggressive. MJ would've taken the game into his hands. Wade has that ability and has shown it in this series. Even Bosh was taking over last night. LeBron has that ability but he tries to be a PG too much. He needs to be more selfish.

Dirk Nomisski had a fever of 102 and still won game 4. What happened, LeBron? :rowfull:

But that's the thing Fiend, Lebron fans (not saying you particulary) treat Lebron as though he is the greatest player in the NBA. He can't be the best player if he runs from his team to another man's team. Totally different story if Wade, Bosh and Lebron had gone to Cleveland, or to a "neutral" team like Chicago or New York. But he went to Miami. Just by looking at how Wade is playing, he is definitely the alpha-dog of this team and he should be. HE is the one that lead Miami to the title in 2006. He didn't leave his city to go to another team, people came to him.

Lebron is doing what he is really meant to do. Be a great supporting player. The best supporting player of all time. I think he would rather be "Robin" and act like a PG, than be "Batman" and actually lead the team. He seems a lot more comfortable in his role now than he was as lead dog in Cleveland. Maybe that was always his mentality....

nothing wrong with that, some people just aren't cut out to be the man. Which is fine, but he and his fans need to stop acting like he is the man. I like Lebron and want the heat to win, but when it comes to leading he is no jordan or kobe

This^.....is the quote of the thread IMO!

Too bad it took seven years and millions of dollars to help Lebron "find himself!"

The good news is that I never spent one penny of my money on him.......

Hopefully Dan Gilbert and company can find a true leader for the Cavs. We're like the six million dollar man when it comes to our sports teams; "we can rebuild"..........:lion:

Hopefully a disinterested Lebron will show up again tonight. I like that Lebron. King of dogging it on the court. He has Randy Moss syndrome, 'I play when I want to play'. Go Mavs!

But that's the thing Fiend, Lebron fans (not saying you particulary) treat Lebron as though he is the greatest player in the NBA.

LeBron's fans treat him like the greatest? Isn't that what fans of players do? Isn't that how you treat Kobe? People with a lot more knowledge of the sport consider LeBron to be the greatest. It's an opinion.

He can't be the best player if he runs from his team to another man's team. Totally different story if Wade, Bosh and Lebron had gone to Cleveland, or to a "neutral" team like Chicago or New York. Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett didn't lead the Celtics to their championship? And didn't Miami have Shaq in 2006? Wade was definently the guy on that team but you just completely ignore the value of the other guys on teams who play key roles. LeBron never had the talent behind him that Kobe, the Spurs or Celtics had. He has that talent now and will for most of the decade.

Lebron is doing what he is really meant to do. Be a great supporting player. The best supporting player of all time. You're right. He's supporting them with Wade and Bosh as they carry the team on their backs.

LeBron led Cleveland for years. He led them to the NBA Finals and to the best record in the league a few seasons later. He LED them to the NBA Finals in his 4th season, without the equivalent of a Shaq. He LED them to back-to-back 60-win seasons.

He didn't get it done in Cleveland but we all know he would've won big at some point had he stayed in Cleveland. At this moment LeBron would win his first title at the same point in his career as MJ, yet he'd only be 26. And it would be a title LeBron contributed to just as much as Wade.

But you forgot about something. In 2005, 2006, and 2007, Kobe did not have the talent to get him a title in the post-Shaq title. BUT, he didn't run off to another team to get that talent. Lebron did. Big big difference.

I know Lebron fans are like any other player's fans. But the Lebron fans need to pipe down a bit. Lebron bailed on a team and joined another man's team to try and get a ring. The "best" player in the NBA has to leave his own team in his prime to join another stud player's team, maybe the "best" player really isn't the best. It's all about perspective... The best player shouldn't run like an impatient fool and join another guy's team.

This series has really exposed Lebron even more. Which makes my previous point seem more and more likely. Lebron wants to be a role player. If that is the case, then maybe he shouldn't be called "King James" anymore. It's more like "Captain of the guard" James....

The Mavericks are one win away from winning it all. Wow. Flock, if you're reading this, if the Mavs pull it off, enjoy the moment. Once the team you love in basketball wins it all, you will see what I mean that all that matters is the title. It is a very sweet moment. No regular season accomplishment will match winning the NBA title. I hope you see what I have enjoyed for a very long time...
