Longtime member – very occasional poster.

My blessed wife has really started allowing me the chance to tickle her feet a lot lately - which is awesome and a new change for us in almost 20 years of marriage.

That said – in the evenings that we've had together where she's allowed me to tickle her feet, there isn't a lot of laughter being produced it simply more matter of squirming and moving around (still wonderful). And I've been able to tickle her both with stockings on as well as barefoot, using just my fingers as well as instruments like toothbrushes etc. and even tried baby oil. No change other than a light light giggle every now and then.

For reference, my wife's upper body is very ticklish and she will howl with laughter when tickled there - but if you ask her where she's most ticklish show usually say her feet. She says her feet are "bad" ticklish and while she's not laughing she says it's much more sensitive than her upper body.

So my question for the group is this: do you consider someone that doesn't laugh when being tickled....ticklish?

And to be clear, I'm not complaining. I was just simply wanting to ask the group their thoughts.

I look forward to the responses.

Yes, it is possible to be ticklish and not laugh. Other ticklish reactions include wriggling and squirming. 😀

It's still nice to have someone to tickle. I had a friend who's feet I use to worship who was zero ticklish on her feet. I could still go through the motions if I wanted to, it was still kinda fun, but tickle her on her upper body and watch the fireworks begin.

In my experience as a ler, wherever you get the most reactions (laughter, physical movement, fighting back, etc) is where they're the most ticklish. She may have sensitivity on her feet, but sounds like she's really most ticklish on the upper body. My guess is that she's discovered she enjoys play with her feet more now than 20 years ago, however she's more ticklish on the upper body. Could be wrong but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it ain't a damn mongoose.

I think she is ticklish on her feet to some extent, but sounds like her upper body is more ticklish. I think you should tie her up tickle her upperbody first to get her laughing then try tickling her feet she may laugh more when tickled on her feet then. It may heighten her ticklishness on her feet.

Thank you everyone for all the responses. And I agree with everyone – it is hard to classify an area as really ticklish when they're not laughing.

Especially when there are other areas on their body which do respond with lots of laughter.

I was asking the group simply because I was wanting to learn others' experiences and if they felt the same way as I did.

Because perhaps you can be classified as "very ticklish" if there's no laughter coming out.

Thank you all. And I hope there are more responses-

My feet are probably my most ticklish spot and I rarely burst out laughing when they are tickled. In a weird way I actually enjoy having them tickled, so I don't react as much as when I'm trying to get the ler to stop tickling. Perhaps your wife is the same? 🙂

The main response to being tickled is not laughter. It's motion in an attempt to get away from the tickling.

Thus laughter is a secondary response to the stimulation, and not needfully part of an individuals response profile.

People can be very ticklish, and not laugh.

One of these days I need to publish the response result guide that I designed for a video producer way back when that trees out the response possibilities, and codifies them. It was the idea that he could just describe videos with the final class groupings to aid folks in knowing what they would get. The thing shoudl be on one of my old systems.... *ponder*

Thank you for these last few responses.

This is the kind of discussion I was hoping for - so I could understand how others thought and felt.

This would be very interesting to peruse.

My ex-- same thing -- but I found a little verbal teasing wore her down. React to her reactions. Coax it out of her. Joke while it's happening. Once the laugh blasts outout, its tough to put that genie back in the bottle. I think she just needs that breakthrough tickle. Godspeed my son.

Yeah, it seems like there are some people who are ticklish, but don't make a sound lol
