nest

Happens around end of April, first weekend in May timeframe in Philly. Trust, more details will come out as it gets closer.

This year the scheduled events of NEST will take place from Friday, May 4, 2012, to Monday, May 7, 2012. (Some people arrive earlier in the week than Friday.) Keep an eye on the NEST section of the Gatherings Forum here to get information on how to register.

Ohh a gathering? any party during May or June?

It's not just "a" gathering.

NEST is THE largest gathering for people like us. Held annually for over 10 years, originally at TMF founder Max Speer's residence, and now due to vast increase in attendance for the past 7 or eight years NEST occurs in a carefully selected hotel every year in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the first weekend of May. This year, that's the evening of Friday 4th to the morning of Monday 7th.

It's well organized and well-monitored for everyone's enjoyment, safety, and security. Prospective attendees must first pre-register and are required to pass a screening process by completing a questionnaire before being invited to come. This is not only to establish sanity and amiability but also to keep the genders balanced. Hotel info is only provided after attendees have been accepted and have paid the NEST fee in full. Hotel costs -we get a special discounted block-booking rate- are extra but reasonable.

Last year about 125 people attended, (mainly from from the U.S.A, but also from Canada, England, Germany, Portugal, and Norway- past NESTs also had participants from France, Austria and Sweden) comprising about 60% men, 40% women. Some people came as couples, some were in groups of friends, and yes, there were quite a few singles, men and women.

Here's a link to the NEST forum which will give you information and plenty of posts by happy NESTees about their experiences there.

Have fun reading all about it, and we hope to see you (and anyone else who reads this) in May.

I'm too far away to go to nest

People come from London every year, which is quite far from Philadelphia. Many people come from California and from Canada. Last year we had somebody from Sweden as well. Save up your money for the trip and attend if you can. 😀

Even though NEST is in my backyard, I've never attended - may change that this year, to film some videos for the ol' site, if folks are interested 🙂

thank you for all the useful information. mariaisticklish and myself might be coming. its more like im coming and if she can find a sitter she will too lol. about how much do nest usually cost nest fee hotel and all that

LAST YEARS'S NEST COSTS

NESTs registration fees were as follows:

Early Bird: Until March 15, 2011 Individual:$90 Couple:$166
Regular: March 16-April 15, 2011 Individual:$100 Couple: $185
Late: April 16-26, 2011 Individual:$115 Couple: $213

This included a few free snack buffets and suchlike over the entire event (deli sandwiches, potato salad, soda, cakes, chips, etc.)

Hotel rates were around $120.00 per night, including an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast and various other cocktail-hour nibbles.

This is a general rule of thumb; I have no idea what the rates will be this year, but I imagine there will be more info sometime within the next six weeks.

Not to hijack a threat about NEST or anything... but I'll be in England in March, and am planning a munch while I'm there. If you're too far away and too poor to come to Derby or London, then I truly can't help you 😉

As for NEST2012, it's coming along! Expect some big changes...

I think...I think me and VryTcklsh will actually make this one, finally. Fingers crossed.

I really want to go this year. Kind of apprehensive as a single guy, I'm sure there is plenty of us there haha, but I'm considering it and think it would be a blast.

Don't miss this opportunity, Joe. There wil be a good number of single guys, and some single girls as well. Some of the guys might be leaving wives at home, so they'd SEEM single. Some will be bringing their wives; but that doesn't necesarily mean you can't tickle their wife. It depends. Many times, obviously, it is no. Other times hubby might HELP you. It's happened before. You never know. Same with boyfriend/girlfriend couples. Sometimes you might be invited to help tickle; sometimes not. But everybody will be friendly and there have been many long-term friendships hatched at NEST, and a few marriages as well.

LIBERTINE was very accurate about registration and room costs (Roommates would divide the room costs, of course.). I'll just add that if you are beyond driving distance, air fares would probably run between $200 and $400 round trip. It's not the cheapest weekend in the world, but it is one of the most unusual, interesting and exciting ones you could have.

Thanks for the advice, Gigglemaker. I could take the train from where I am for not too expensive so the cost isn't really a worry. Moreso just want to know some people in advance and all that.
