I recently heard about this on the radio, here, and I'm curious about it. Have any of you ever heard of or tried Drank? It's apparently supposed to do the exact opposite of an energy drink by making you feel relaxed. I kinda want to try it to see if it'll help me sleep at night to combat the tremendous amount of caffeine I take in, but then I wonder if consuming a 16 oz. carbonated beverage before bed will keep me up to go to the bathroom! 😛

Anyway, here's the website. I also hope they come up with other flavors besides grape.

Melatonin is found in the body naturally. Valarian root & rose hips are both natural remedies that can help quiet the system. However, consumed on an empty stomach, they are both known to irritate things...esp. for those who already have digestive issues. So, caution is advised along those lines. I'd also caution against using this to counter the effects of over-intake of stimulants such as caffine. The back and forth of the effects can wreak havoc with the body over time...esp with the heart.

They list the active ingredients as being:
Melatonin: This brain hormone naturally controls the human sleep cycle. Melatonin, therefore, tells our bodies when it is time for sleep and when it is time to wake up. "Drank" contains a safe dose of Melatonin which relaxes those who drink it and helps them improve both the duration and quality of their sleep. Melatonin extracts aid the body in resetting its natural 'clock' and are even strong enough to prevent the effects of jet-lag. "Drank" enhances the positive effects of melatonin with flair and flavor which all are sure to enjoy.

Valerian Root: Valerian Root benefits anyone who may suffer from anxiety; restlessness; insomnia; mental strain; lack of concentration; excitability; stress; chronic headaches or migraines; nervous stomach cramps; bladder control issues; chronic pain, menopause; and the discomfort, and emotional distress which may occur with menstruation. "Drank" contains a healthy dose measured to compliment the effects of the melatonin and enhance relaxation. Valerian Root has been used around the world for centuries as a safe sedative without the morning 'grogginess' and possibility of addiction that man-made sedatives generally contain. "Drank" takes this old age remedy and puts it in the mix with melatonin to "slow your roll" after a long day.

Rose Hips: Another age-old remedy for what ails the body, Rose-Hips, is an excellent source of vitamin-C, contains biologically valuable bioflavinoids and is a great source of anti-oxidants. Rose-Hips have traditionally been used to treat diarrhea, nervousness, exhaustion, stress, urinary problems. Rose- Hips is commonly consumed by itself in tea (a drink) or is used as a topical oil. "Drank" adds Rose-Hips to the Melatonin and Valerian root to create extreme relaxation in a safe and healthy way.

I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of <s>bullshit</s> alternative medicine, so right from the onset I was suspicious. However, Valerian is accepted scientifically as a sedative, as well as an anti-convulsant, migraine treatment and pain reliever. Melatonin promotes prolonged REM sleep at extremely high doses (50 mg), so the amount that you'd find in "Drank" would be negligible--otherwise you'd require a prescription to buy it. The Rose Hips are the least effective of the active ingredients, it doesn't do diddly.

What if it knocks you out, and makes you have to go to the
bathroom? That could get messy fast... :scared:

shit, i got the cure for sleeping problems. I call it monday night raw.

I'm a Drank advocate!!

It's not so much that it "knocks you out", but it makes your bed look mighty tempting after a can. It tastes like grape soda, and doesn't have any weird aftertaste.
