Okay everyone...We do our Weekly Football Picks.

Week to week you try to figure out what teams will win based on the Point Spreads. If you join...play all year.

Now I realize that point spreads change throughout the week but once I post it...it is LOCKED in. You will pick based on the spreads I have posted.

Now from what I understand, this year we will have a prize or prizes, I will discuss this with Robace and our sponsors of TMF Radio Sports.

So much will go into this so bare with us: At the end of the year the player with the best record will win. I will track the records throughout the season. Any questions, please send questions into my PM box.

New Orleans (I hate choosing against Favre and the Vikings, but I worry about the pass rush.)

Carolina Panthers

Miami Dolphins

Atlanta Falcons

Detroit Lions (Not as big of a shocker as some might think it is.)

New England Patriots

Cleveland Browns (Complete crapshoot vs Tampa Bay)

Denver Broncos (Are you kidding? Orton is on fire and Tebow will be their red zone man in the first regular season game of his career at his home town. This game shouldn't be as close as the spread has it at.)

Indianapolis Colts

Tennessee Titans (But don't be surprised if Chris Johnson gets less than 100 yards in this game.)

Green Bay Packers (Again, the spread is too small. Kolb should struggle vs the Packer defense.)

San Francisco 49ers (Another stupid spread. Seattle should be CRUSHED here.)

St. Louis Rams (I'll take Bradford with his receivers, whoever they might be even with that Baltimore trade, over Anderson and Fitzgerald.)

Dallas Cowboys (I'll be rooting for the Skins though.)

New York Jets (This might be the most low scoring game of the week if Revis can be at mid season form with only a week of practice. Expect a snooze fest and lots of ESPN coverage on Revis's holdout and the additions of Boldin and TJ Houshmenzadah to the Ravens.)

Kansas City Chiefs (Calling the upset here. I like Mathews but the WR corp for Rivers is weak enough without Vincent Jackson that I feel the Chiefs, who only got better this offseason, will be able to get a head start in the division.)

Some really good matchups to start the season with and no one's favored by more than a touchdown.

Oh what the heck, I'll give this a try this year.

Minnesota +4.5 Huge revenge game. Vikes keep it close.
Carolina +7 Too many points. Giants will have trouble slowing Panthers running game.
Miami -3 Bills might be worst team in NFL this year. This game could get ugly.
Atlanta -2.5 Steelers QB's not ready yet.
Detroit +6 Lions keep it close
New England -4.5 Tough call here but going with the Pats at home to cover
Tampa Bay -3 Two of the worst teams in the NFL. Going with the home team.
Jacksonville -2.5 Ditto above statement
Indy -2.5 Until Texans prove they can win a big game, I'll go with the Colts.
Tennessee -6.5 Titans win big at home.
Philly +3 No one is giving the Eagles a chance in this game. That's why I'm picking the Birds.
San Fran -3 Seattle not ready to compete yet.
Arizona -4 Bradford will struggle in his debut with that O-line.
Washington +4 Skins always play Cowboys close. FG game.
Baltimore +2 Jets are over hyped this year.
Kansas City +5.5 Chiefs will be improved this year. Chargers may struggle with rookie RB and no D-Jax.

Minnesota +4 1/2 At New Orleans 8:30pm ( NBC ) --- Super Bowl Champs at home and the Vikings having theor issues. 4 1/2 just doesn't seem like enough.

Sunday, September 12th,2010

Carolina Panthers +7 @ NY Giants 1:00pm ( FOX ) --- the Giants defense could be an issue here. Though I believe the Giants are better then Carolina, I think I need to see it first.

Miami Dolphins -3 @ Buffalo Bills 1:00pm ( CBS ) --- I will in all likelihood not be taking Buffalo this season. Unless point spread is crazy. Miami undergoing changes show be a decent team this year.

Atlanta Falcons -2 1/2 @ Pittsburgh Steelers 1:00pm ( FOX ) --- Steelers are a mess right now. Though I am not a big believer in the Falcons on the road, I think they can win and cover the spread.

Detroit Lions +6 @ Chicago Bears 1:00pm ( FOX ) --- I wonder how many people will sleep on the Lions this season. This is a team that continues to improve. Though they have not won on the road since October 28th,2007 at Chicago ( 16-7 ) I feel confident. They may not win this game, but they will keep this one close. Both teams are expected to battle for third place.

Cincinnati Bengals +4 1/2 @ New England Patriots 1:00pm ( CBS ) --- The Bengals come off a great season a year ago. They have not had back to back winning seasons since the 1981-1982 seasons. History tells us they will not have a good season. The Patroits are ready to start another run with the idea of heading back to the Super Bowl. This division is theirs until they so it isn't.

Cleveland Browns +3 @ Tampa Bay Bucanneers 1:00pm ( CBS ) --- Cleveland's defense is an unknown but good defense. It will be the offense that drives the coach crazy. Don't look for Cleveland to average more than 15 points a game. But here they play Tampa Bay. This Bucaneers teams will be bad. Cleveland to win game #1.

Denver Broncos +2 1/2 @ Jacksonville Jaguars 1:00pm ( CBS ) --- The Jaguars will also be a bad team. But they should be an entertainingly bad team. I don't believe in either team right now...so when that happens, I will ride with the home team.

Indianapolis Colts -2 1/2 @ Houston Texans 1:00pm ( CBS ) This is going to be a good game. The Colts have always played this Texan team well. Expect very little to change with that here. Payton Manning and the Colts in a 32-28 type game.

Oakland Raiders +6 1/2 @ Tennessee Titans 1:00pm ( CBS ) --- Tennessee is good. They should compete for a Wild Card. The Raiders will get them off to a good start. The Raiders have made some positive changes but I stand by the idea that the Raiders become a real team and a contending type of team when Al Davis steps down and retires or dies. I think he will have to die for the Raiders to be any good.

Green Bay Packers -3 @ Philadelphia Eagles 4:15pm ( FOX ) --- Green Bay is going to be a strong team. This should be a preety good game to watch but I think that Philadelphia is undergoing changes that will have them slip in the standings.

San Francisco 49ers -3 @ Seattle Seahawks 4:15pm ( FOX ) ---Right now, this is San Francisco's division to win. The Seahawks are going nowhere so look for San Fan to flex their muscles in this divisional matchup.

Arizona Cardinals -4 @ St. Louis Rams 4:15pm ( FOX ) --- Arizona will begin 1-0 because they get the Rams. Sam Bradford could one day make a difference but not right now. Cardinals to cruise to a victory.

Dallas Cowboys -4 @ Washington Redskins 8:20pm ( NBC ) --- This should be a good game. I think that this will be a good test for both teams. Cowboys get to see how McNabb looks in a Redskins uniform. I still think the Cowboys are the better team here and will win a 31-21 type game here.

Monday, September 13th,2010

Baltimore Ravens +2 @ New York Jets 7:00pm ( ESPN ) --- Well, we see the improvements the Ravens made on offense. The Jets can't have Sanchez wearing Huggies again this season. I think right now, the Ravens are the better team are will win this game outright.

San Diego Chargers -5 1/2 @ Kansas City Chiefs 10:15pm ( ESPN ) --- My upset pick of the week. The Chargers seem to get off to the slow starts and even though this is the Chargers division, I can see the Chiefs playing hard in this game and winning it outright.

Hi All, it's great to be back for another football season!

Thursday, September 9th,2010

Minnesota +4 1/2 At New Orleans -4.5 8:30pm ( NBC ) I'm taking the Saints since the top two Viking Receivers have health issues & Peterson has security issues.

Sunday, September 12th,2010

Carolina Panthers +7 @ NY Giants 1:00pm ( FOX ) Seven points is a lot to cover for a slightly above average football team, even if it's my football team. I'll take the Panthers to cover the +7.

Miami Dolphins -3 @ Buffalo Bills 1:00pm ( CBS ) I'll take the Dolphins on a whim.

Atlanta Falcons -2 1/2 @ Pittsburgh Steelers 1:00pm ( FOX ) I can't give these points away fast enough. The Falcons, to not cover, have to win this game by one or two points or lose it outright. Dennis Dixon doesn't inspire enough confidence here.

Detroit Lions +6 @ Chicago Bears 1:00pm ( FOX ) And here's my first upset pick - I'm riding the Lions, baby!

Cincinnati Bengals +4 1/2 @ New England Patriots 1:00pm ( CBS ) Blah Blah Blah I'm not watching Hard Knocks Blah Blah Blah. You may not be, but Bill Belichick is. He has to - his defense doesn't exist as much as it used to. I expect to see my #2 keeper WR Chad Ocho Cinco & fellow loudmouth Terrell Owens to yap with their hands & their mouths.

Cleveland Browns +3 @ Tampa Bay Bucanneers 1:00pm ( CBS ) Josh Freeman looks okay.

Denver Broncos +2 1/2 @ Jacksonville Jaguars 1:00pm ( CBS ) Can you believe that Kyle Orton was taken in my keeper league in the 7th round while that McNabb fellow was drafted in the 12th?? Way too wrong a pick. I'll ride Garrard.

Indianapolis Colts -2 1/2 @ Houston Texans 1:00pm ( CBS ) I'm picking the Texans only because insanity strikes occasionally. That's it.

Oakland Raiders +6 1/2 @ Tennessee Titans 1:00pm ( CBS ) Jason Campbell actually gives the Raiders a decent quarterback that is motivated to play well since Rich Gannon.

Green Bay Packers -3 @ Philadelphia Eagles 4:15pm ( FOX ) I expect Rodgers to have at least 3 scoring drives by halftime.

San Francisco 49ers -3 @ Seattle Seahawks 4:15pm ( FOX ) If I'm going to have enough confidence to possibly pick a division winner, I should have enough confidence to give points to an NFC West opponent.

Arizona Cardinals -4 @ St. Louis Rams 4:15pm ( FOX ) Why, you ask? The answer is Derek Anderson.

Dallas Cowboys -4 @ Washington Redskins 8:20pm ( NBC ) NFC East game, throw anything more than 3 points out the window.

Monday, September 13th,2010

Baltimore Ravens +2 @ New York Jets 7:00pm ( ESPN ) This is a tough pick, but I don't see the Ravens defense being that good anymore.

San Diego Chargers -5 1/2 @ Kansas City Chiefs 10:15pm ( ESPN ) I can't take these points fast enough. The Chargers aren't that good, & the Chiefs have played them tough recently.

Atlanta -3 @ Pittsburgh (even without Ben, they are a decent team)
Detroit -3 @ Chicago (They're still the Lions...but they will get better, just not here)
Cincinnati +4.5 @ New England (more proof that the dynasty is over, Ochocinco and his new partner in crime will have a big day)
Cleveland - 4 @ Tampa Bay (Tampa Bay slugs it out at Raymond James)

Indianapolis +7 @ Houston (It's the Colts)
Oakland -3 @ Tennessee (Media Raider fetish will go limp, Titans win in a squeaker)

Minnesota +4 1/2 At New Orleans -4.5 8:30pm ( NBC )
I gotta go with the champs here. The Saints have been getting little respect as defending Super Bowl Champs and I think they start the year off right with a convincing win. It'll be close early, but the Saints take care of business in the second half.

Sunday, September 12th,2010

Carolina Panthers +7 @ NY Giants 1:00pm ( FOX )
I think the Giants will win, but the spread is too much for week 1, and for 2 teams that will try to establish the run and keep that clock moving. Giants win the game, but the Panthers cover the spread.

Miami Dolphins -3 @ Buffalo Bills 1:00pm ( CBS )
Miami is just a better team, weather not a factor this early in the season. Expect the Bills to play well, and Spiller to get 2 TD's.

Atlanta Falcons -2 1/2
@ Pittsburgh Steelers 1:00pm ( FOX )
Ill take the known QB over the unknown. I have not seen enough to know if Dixon can lead the Steelers to a win. Defense rules the first half, but the Falcons eek out enough offense to pull off a win.

Detroit Lions +6
@ Chicago Bears 1:00pm ( FOX )
This is starting not to look like an upset. The Lions I think on paper is the most improved team in the league. It should translate well on the field. While Megatron may stay silent from double coverage, other players step up huge and Detroit becomes the darling of week 1.

Cincinnati Bengals +4 1/2 @ New England Patriots 1:00pm ( CBS )
Pats at home. I bet against them too many times last year, and I learned. Take the Pats and the points. Welker will show very few affects of his injury from last season, and Fred Taylor runs like a man 5 years younger than he is.

Cleveland Browns +3 @ Tampa Bay Bucanneers 1:00pm ( CBS )
Hardest choice, but I think overall Cleveland has more playmakers and proven talent. Delhomme has at least one or two good games a year in him.

Denver Broncos +2 1/2 @ Jacksonville Jaguars 1:00pm ( CBS )
Jacksonville is ready, MJD is rested (don't worry about the knee) and Denver is still in disarray. At J-Ville, Ill take the Jags. Mainly the only reason I am, home field is worth 3 to me here.

Indianapolis Colts -2 1/2 @ Houston Texans 1:00pm ( CBS )
Every year the Texans come so close. First game of the year is when anything can happen, and the Texans have a great history of winning season openers at home. An exciting game, but the Texans finally get the last drive, the last kick and open their season at 1-0.

Oakland Raiders +6 1/2 @ Tennessee Titans 1:00pm ( CBS )
Vince Young and CJ2K confuse an otherwise fine Raider defense. The Titans as a team will run for over 200, and West Coast teams playing early in the day (granted it may not be all the way to the East Coast) usually are sluggish in the beginning. Tennessee wins and covers.

Green Bay Packers -3
@ Philadelphia Eagles 4:15pm ( FOX )
Too much A-Rod here. Proven QB again versus a new starter. A lot of firepower on both sides, but A-Rod is more used to his weapons. Fun game, especially for Packer fans.

San Francisco 49ers -3 @ Seattle Seahawks 4:15pm ( FOX )
San Fran looks to get a leg up in the division and gets this early win. Battle of the used to be (Hasselbeck) and the hope to be (Smith). The hope wins out. Frank Gore...big day.

Arizona Cardinals -4 @ St. Louis Rams 4:15pm ( FOX )
Just who are the Cardinals now without Warner, Boldin and several defensive stars? The team that loses in week one to Sam Bradford and the Rams.

Dallas Cowboys -4 @ Washington Redskins 8:20pm ( NBC )
Divisional game, BIG OPENING. Forget how these teams look on paper, anything can happen. Dallas may be the better team over the year...but on this night the Redskins should rule. If Dallas can get into the endzone, that alone will be a positive. But the new look Skins surprise the Cowboys and get the win at home.

Monday, September 13th,2010

Baltimore Ravens +2
@ New York Jets 7:00pm ( ESPN )
Two great defenses. The difference here. Offense. The Ravens have a more explosive offense with all the pieces ready and primed. I trust Flacco more than Sanchez, the Ravens start the season with a win and the Jets open their first regular season home game with a loss.

San Diego Chargers -5 1/2 @ Kansas City Chiefs 10:15pm ( ESPN )
San Diego has way too much talent to lose. The Chargers traditionally start off slow, but I think they may have learned from their past mistakes. Kansas City just has not put it together, they may...but not tonight.

Rob

These are the picks for my friend DerekG.

San Diego Chargers -5 1/2 @ Kansas City Chiefs 10:15pm ( ESPN )

Thursday, September 9th,2010

Minnesota +4 1/2 At New Orleans -4.5 8:30pm ( NBC )

Last 10 season openers the Champs are undefeated, expect the Saints to continue the trend. The Minnesota Favres have too many unknowns on offense that definitely outweigh New Orleans missing Darren Sharper in the secondary.

Carolina Panthers +7 @ NY Giants 1:00pm ( FOX )

A new season, a new stadium, a new defensive coordinator all mean a new Giants' team this year. Look for Eli to have a good performance and show that its a new era for the GMEN. Carolina may be able to run the ball, but Matt Moore will be looking over his shoulder which will prove costly.

Miami Dolphins -3 @ Buffalo Bills 1:00pm ( CBS )

Name the QB for the Bills? Thats right you don't know because its not relevant. Henne and company take a softball win to start their march to a division crown.

Atlanta Falcons -2 1/2 @ Pittsburgh Steelers 1:00pm ( FOX )

Big Ben destroyed this season by being arrested in Georgia, and Atlanta starts the year in Pittsburgh? Don't mess with karma take the Falcons.

Detroit Lions +6 @ Chicago Bears 1:00pm ( FOX )

Lovie Smith brought in Mike Martz to save his job, but how did that work out in San Fran for Mike Nolan? Stafford is an upcoming QB (better then Sanchez Jets' fans deal), Jahvid Best was a shrewd move, and Ndamukong Suh the prosecution rests its case. IDP fantasy alert: Louis Delmas playing CF in the secondary against Jay Cutler.

Cincinnati Bengals +4 1/2 @ New England Patriots 1:00pm ( CBS )

Don't worry about Brady Pats' fans, his hair was unstyled by the accident. NE were humiliated in the playoffs and the "Hoodie" has been counting the seconds until this game to take out his retribution.

Denver Broncos +2 1/2 @ Jacksonville Jaguars 1:00pm ( CBS )

Tebow's effect on this game is tremendous; he'll actually draw fans in the stands in Jacksonville! Sadly that does nothing for the Broncos on the field and MJD and company will disappoint Tebow Nation.

Indianapolis Colts -2 1/2 @ Houston Texans 1:00pm ( CBS )

Houston needs this for so many reasons and lets face it they have to beat Peyton someday right? Not to mention giving Matt Schaub a legitimate running game which will add the play action pass to that offense; Texans make a statement that they will be a force this year.

Oakland Raiders +6 1/2 @ Tennessee Titans 1:00pm ( CBS )

While the Raiders are an improved ballclub, they have to travel to Tennessee and once again the airline will lose their WR's. CJ2K running to daylight once again dominates Sportscenter highlights.

Green Bay Packers -3 @ Philadelphia Eagles 4:15pm ( FOX )

Philly may be the home team, but Aaron Rodgers is the one that will feel right at home. Should be a shootout, but come the final whistle Rodgers and company have more bullets in the chamber.

San Francisco 49ers -3 @ Seattle Seahawks 4:15pm ( FOX )

San Fran gets a 5th preseason game it seems, oh wait Seattle is just that bad. Alex Smith could have a break out game and considering the area he might just flashback to being in College. Seahawk fans, well you always have that 12th man flag raising ceremony so that should be fun.

Arizona Cardinals -4 @ St. Louis Rams 4:15pm ( FOX )

Bradford looks impressive, but this will be the Steven Jackson show. The Rams need to manage the clock because if not Lord Anderson could use the force of Fitzgerald and Breaston.

Dallas Cowboys -4 @ Washington Redskins 8:20pm ( NBC )

Washington is starting to become the trendy pick here and lets face it, everyone loves to hate the Cowboys. DON'T FALL FOR THE TRAP! Donovan McNabb is learning a new offensive system with significantly less weapons but more importantly the Skins' Defense is switching to a 3-4. The Zone Blocking Scheme is all fine and good for a Shanny team, but one slip up and Demarcus Ware will be the reason Sexy Rexy Grossman is once again a starting QB in the NFL.

Cleveland Browns +3 @ Tampa Bay Bucanneers 1:00pm ( CBS )

Why is this game being played? It has no relevance whatsoever in the history of NFL. Abysmal matchup with no real winner, in fact will probably be a tie. Tampa's at home so take the home team, no seriously take both teams out of the league.

Baltimore Ravens +2 @ New York Jets 7:00pm ( ESPN )

Rex Ryan loves to run his mouth, but frankly its not even an original bit since he stole it from Brian Billick in the original Hard Knocks. The Ravens' are the only Super Bowl contender in this match up so its an easy pick.

Now before someone says I'm being a homer for taking the Ravens consider this:

QB: Ravens
RB: Ravens
WR: Ravens
OL: Push *Ravens' likely starting Tony Moll at RT and the Jets lost Fanacea*
DL: Push
LB: Push
CB: Jets
K: Push

Add up those columns and the Ravens have the edge

San Diego Chargers -5 1/2 @ Kansas City Chiefs 10:15pm ( ESPN )

UPSET CITY BABY! The Chargers are without their #1 WR, their franchise LT, are starting a Rookie RB. They may win the game but won't cover the spread and thats all that matters in this thread.
