Nichelle Nichols passes

Read an article a few years ago that she wanted to quit Star Trek after the first season but was talked out of it by none other than Martin Luther King Jr. He stated that she didn't yet realize her role as not only a woman in a starring role of a hit series, but more a woman of color in such a
position.

He told her that Star Trek was the only show he would let his children stay up and watch because it showed a dichotomy that was rarely seen in those days where people of different ethnicities were seen as equals.

RIP Ms. Nichols. Glad you changed your mind.

She was a fine actress. Rest In Peace, Ms. Nichols.
 
What a truly talented woman who knew how to represent .. making it look easy. She gave us all a star to both wish upon, guide us and shoot for.
