Actually, being in a long-term relationship, my wife and I don't use safewords. Don't need 'em.
But that doesn't mean I'm myopic enough to think my current experience gives me the right to say what's what about tickling.

If by bullshit, you mean useful when playing with someone new or in case you do not posess psychic abilities or acute knowledge to read the nuances of reactions unique to each individual so that you don't cross a line, or if you mean imperative to a safe play party so ambiguous situations like this can be prevented, then yeah, totally agree.

Since this thread has taken a turn towards gender issues, I am curious if people's opinions would be the same, ie the ler was an asshole, deserved to get beat up, should be arrested etc if the genders were reversed. So, say the aggressor was female, harassing her wussy boyfriend all night, him finally relenting and then her tickling him until he had rope burns while be pleaded. What if it was two gay men? Or two lesbians? Just curious if the reversal of gender would change anyone's stance.

Lol are you implying people who do use safe words, in the interest of caution are not intelligent?

Don't you think there are lees and lers who enjoy different levels of intensity whether it's the first time or not? Should everyone play the same way the first time and if not, how do they go about it versus a "regular Lee"? Should the Lee be aware of their own mannerisms while being tickled in order to describe them upon the first session or is there some kind of lee-dar you possess?

And what if you we're the host? Would you trust everyone to play using an "intelligence" like yours or would you pose some ground rules? What would those rules be? How would you determine if those rules were broken?

You clearly aren't reading my post, because I never suggested treating everybody the same way was an ideal method to approaching a Lee.

I don't host events. I don't care to. What I do care about is some guy who went to an event and saw something he didn't think was appropriate. Was it? Who knows. Were "the rules" put out in the open? Again, I didn't see that in the post. But if whatever happened was obvious enough to be a nuisance either it A: shouldn't have been happening or B: someone could've decided it would've been more intelligent to take it somewhere else. But ya, let's keep going on smit how a safe word in a non-consensual session just makes everything better.

You asking dumb questions about how I would host an event, which considering I live in bumblefuck NJ the chances are nil, implies that I stated I was some expert, which I didn't. I said words, especially safe words, do nothing for the quality of a session. The only thing accomplished by shouting "BLUE!" Amidst tickling is create comedy in a situation, or confuse the ler.

The thing is, it wasn't obvious that it was a nuisance. That's the point of this fucking thread, because the guy wasn't sure if he acted correctly because he said it was difficult to read the situation. I agreed with his actions but think if a safeword were in place and the female used the safeword and the man kept going, THEN it would be obvious to the OP, or any other good Samaritan willing to step in, that the situation had gone too far.
