After 7 months without a cigarette and eating all thiose damn vegatables and fruit.....I'm going to town and getting some fattening pastries to settle my Post NEST depression.
the boil water ban in boston has been lifted. YAY!!! however, of course some people don't stop to THINK about what a notice really means. i live in a high rise in the middle of boston with 16 floors. with the ban lifted, the city is telling folks to run their cold water for one minute to flush the system and hot water for 15-30 minutes to empty their hot water heater of potentially contaminated water. when i called security late this morning to find out how long i really needed to run my hot water (we don't have individual hot water heaters), the guard said 15-30 minutes. for real??? i couldn't even get him to see how this was not realistic for high rises, so he transferred me to the head of maintenance. early afternoon, maintenance calls back and says that yes, i'm right, and we only need to run for a minute or two and that he will inform the guard. now shouldn't the head of maintenance thought of this himself as well??? imagine how many people WASTED hundreds of gallons of hot water by running the system for 15-30 minutes. when did people stop using their brains?
