#notips movement!

I tipped the girl behind the counter at my favorite hot dog joint today. Anyone's who has been to Yum Yum's in Greensboro, NC knows that the workers there do NOT provide a menial service to society. They make the best fucking hot dogs and ice cream in the world!

Desdemona? Always a civil, kind lady.

Yes, I'll have to disagree with you there. Apparently, not taking this "movement" (which anyone with any imagination can see is a huge put-on) as seriously as she does is grounds for throwing that civility out the window.

So let's try to get something positive out of this mess....how do they fix their hot dogs?

Scientific studies have shown NOT TIPPING after shredding not only makes your food taste 20% better, it makes you 20% richer as well.

Try it, it really works! And who am I to argue with science, anyway?

Lol you are so bad at being a troll you nerd

Apparently as long as you indirectly name call, rather than directly, all is fine. Makes sense.

If you have a problem with something, report it. I can only act on what I know is happening.

I just finished reading the entire thread. Props mate! I can't believe so many people would actually fall for this. :bwahaha:

There is absolutely *nothing to fall for* Mate.

It's a lifestyle and attitude change.

People are cutting coupons and looking to save money when an obvious solution is right in front of them:

"Save 20% by NOT tipping servers when you choose to dine out".

For me, that 20% more than paid for my gym membership, which obviously transformed my life.

I was a doughboy with no direction or ambition on a dangerous downward spiral like so many others out there.

The #notips philosophy has transformed me. It's a simple matter of supply / demand economics, bra.

I'll be more than happy to explain it to anyone who would like to better understand our concepts / philosophies.

You might be surprised to find out our research is all backed by a Stanford professor.

We might make jokes often, and carry on, but the #notipsmovement is no joke.

I must agree that NOT TIPPING is definitely not a new concept.

Most of the rest of the WORLD doesn't do it, but here in the good ol' USA, the sense of entitlement of the undereducated and unskilled is off-the-charts.

This article is over 4 years old and was written by a foreigner, but very eloquently explains our position: "We don't want to be your friend, we just want to pay for our meal" as well as several other points the broken-record servants throw at us.

http://www.bhagwad.com/blog/2009/philosophy/5-reasons-why-i-wont-tip-you-if-youre-a-waiter.html/

The only difference between him & I is I consume Creatine and blast lats and shred delts before I feast like a beast.

Enjoy the article and the infantile replies!

Tipping on To-Go Orders ?!? #notipsever #especiallyontogoorders

Ok, Peeps.
I firstly want to thank y'all for all the killer responses to my kick-ass thread and just thank ya for the support.

I just got off the phone w/ my Mom on M-Day and she was touched by my story of the #notipsmovement.

As a former waitress she agreed that *Something Must Be Done* about the begging and panhandling of modern-day servants.
The owners arethe greedy bastards that need to pay their slaves a LOT more $$.

One thing we discussed disturbed her in particular: TIPPING on a TO-GO Order.

I have had 2 instances this past week where lowly servants were requesting tips:

1. Jimmy John's Subs
They brag of "freakishly fast delivery" but I've had them show up late for my presentations at a 50% rate, so I don't risk it and have my secretary p/u the box lunches and deliver them because they simply cannot be trusted.
Even when I order to pick-up (p/u) they still have a TIP line in the bill.
This makes me laugh and laugh, then almost *puke* when I find out it's not a mistake.
I wrote "What the Hell is This ???" in the tip line and as I was leaving I was accosted by a JJ beta servant demanding a tip for mearly doing his job and packaging my To-Go order.

I immediately asked for a shift manager, and he claimed he *WAS* the manager.
A few steps back inside to the counter proved otherwise.
He was fired - On The SPOT! - by the *real* Manager!

Major Victory for the #notipsmovement !!!

2. Applebee's To-Go
Come on! Seriously?
You want me to tip you for bringing a bag of mediocre chix wings 15 ft to my car?!?

When I don't even get a chance to run you around and abuse you for a while?!?

Watching you wait there after I handed you exact change in CA$H as I slowly backed away was priceless!

I mean, REALLY ... WHO TIPS ON TO-GO Orders?!?

The self-entitlement of this so-called Industry has gotten completely out of hand!

People! ! !
PLEASE STOP TIPPING these professional beggars!

Society *DOES NOT* have to dictate what you do with your MONEY!

STOP being led along like SHEEPLE and star thinking for yourselves!

1. Spelling goes a long way.

2. What is the official stance on picking up tips? Haven't done it too often.

Go look at a link..

www.msn.com//America's most- and least- common jobs.

One of the most common:

Food servers and food prep workers.

Average annual income:

$18,000 plus a year.

How is anyone supposed to live on that?

And this "Movement".. advocates not tipping for service given.. to supplement the meager income.

Simply put.. it's a disgrace, and reading that article made it hit home even more..

How do you feel about tipping taxi drivers?
Would you have a different opinion if the taxi driver is also the owner of the vehicle?

I would imagine that because property of driver/business is constantly taxed (dings, scratches, tires, wheels, suspension, etc) that it's an elevated level of tipping.

But that's just me.

I take livery cabs in NY from time to time, so I've heard a bit about this..

NYC cabs.. I believe.. because I don't take them often, are usually owned by a cab company, and then leased to a driver,. for a paid fee.

Livery cabs.. I think.. can go one of two ways. Either: The driver owns his own vehicle, and pays the livery company a fee.. or a percentage of his take. Or.. as with a NYC cab.. the livery driver can lease his vehicle from the car service/cab company he's working for.. for a fee.. and the two parties have an agreed upon income split from the fares the driver takes in.

I could be wrong, but this is how I understand it.

Privately owned would be the worst, insurance would be insane, wear and tear on the vehicle + gas. Not for me.

Meh I have a buddy who cabs; he seems to enjoy it. But that's not like a heavy city traffic area. But ya, I imagine tip wise, it's much more likely to go from zero to screwed.

I've got a buddy that does it as well. Another veteran, you might know. He does that thing where you call for a driver when you're too drunk to drive yourself. It get's pretty crazy at times and you're all alone. He's told me some stories. I don't know what he makes for tips, but he deserves them. lol

Yea, designated drivers....for "events" I hear on the radio about tickets to buy prior to the event being available. Sounds like they have plenty of work, at the very least.
